Considerations for brain pH assessment by 31P NMR

Magnetic Resonance Imaging, 1988
Recently in vivo NMR spectroscopy has been used to measure brain pH non-invasively. Both the inorganic orthophosphate (Pi) chemical shift (delta) and the difference between the chemical shifts of phosphocreatine (PCr) and Pi(delta delta PCr-Pi) have been proposed as indicators of brain pH.

31P NMR studies of oriented phospholipid multilayers

Journal of Magnetic Resonance (1969), 1982
The motional properties of various well-defined species of phosphatidylcholine, phosphatidylethanolamine, and phosphatidylglycerol, as well as phospholipids from natural sources, were investigated in oriented multibilayer systems employing 31P NMR. Particular hydrocarbon phase transition transition temperature Tc.

31P-NMR assay of phosphatidylcholine and phosphatidylethanolamine in AL721

Journal of Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Analysis, 1990
A 31P-NMR based method has been developed for the assay of phosphatidylcholine (PC) and phosphatidylethanolamine (PE) in AL721. The assay is based on the comparison of NMR signal intensities of the phosphatidyl moiety of PC and PE to the signal of triphenylphosphate (TPP), the internal standard.

31P NMR of DNA in eukaryotic chromosomal complexes

Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 1981
Abstract DNA complexed with histones in soluble chromatin and with protamines in the heads of sperm has been studied by 31P NMR spectroscopy. Because of the large size of these nucleoprotein structures, methods of high resolution solid state NMR were employed.

Fluoride effects on 31P NMR spectra of macrophages

Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 1987
31P High resolution nuclear magnetic resonance studies have been carried out on the P388D1 tumoral cell line and the BCG elicited alveolar rabbit macrophages both in sedimented cells and in perfused agarose-embedded cells. When the cells were sufficiently oxygenated, the phosphorylated sugars and ATP concentrations attained high levels.

Evaluation of myocardial preservation using 31P NMR

Journal of Surgical Research, 1985
The purpose of this study was (1) to monitor myocardial high-energy phosphate content and recovery of left ventricular (LV) contractile function following normothermic graded cardiac ischemia and single-dose hypothermic potassium cardioplegia, and (2) to assess the temporal limits of LV functional recovery during single-dose cardioplegia maintained at ...

31P NMR phospholipid characterization of intracranial tumors

Brain Research, 1994
Phospholipid extracts from 48 intracranial tumors were analyzed using 31P NMR. Phospholipids commonly identified in the tumor spectra included phosphatidylglycerol (PG), phosphatidic acid (PA), diphosphatidylglycerol (DPG), uncharacterized phospholipid (U), ethanolamine plasmalogen (EPLAS), phosphatidylethanolamine (PE), phosphatidylserine (PS ...

Dichlorvos degradation studied by 31P-NMR

Environmental Chemistry Letters, 2004
We studied the hydrolysis and TiO2 photocatalysis of the pesticide dichlorvos at pH 2.6–9 using phosphorus-31 nuclear magnetic resonance (31P NMR). We found that the hydrolysis of dichlorvos led to the formation of dimethyl phosphate at pH 5.6–9. On the other hand, TiO2 photocatalysis decomposed dichlorvos into dimethyl phosphate, which further reacted

The 31P NMR spectra of Cd3P2 and Zn3P2

Journal of Physics and Chemistry of Solids, 1992
Abstract The magic-angle spinning 31 P NMR spectrum of Cd 3 P 2 is reported. Three lines with intensities nearly 1:1:2 are observed, as expected from the X-ray determined crystal structure. In light of this agreement and the reported identical crystal structures, the 31 P NMR of Zn 3 P 2 is re-examined.

202 MHz 31P NMR performances

Journal of Molecular Structure, 1987
Abstract 202.458 MHz 31 P NMR (Bruker WM 500) performances are illustrated for new cyclophosphazenes whose ABC systems, that is 3 expected doublets of doublets, give singles or “deckle-edged” singlets when using low-field NMR equipment.
