First attempt at using a synthetic diet in short‐lived killifish, a vertebrate model of ageing

open access: yesJournal of Fish Biology, EarlyView.
Abstract Diet standardization of model organisms is crucial for experimental consistency and repeatability in laboratory research, yet laboratory fish often lack species‐specific, open‐formula standardized diets. This study aims to address this gap by testing the effect of macronutrient content on the performance of Nothobranchius furzeri, an ...

SYNTHESIS OF A MODIFIED 4-AMINOBENZOIC ACID DERIVATIVE UNDER ULTRASOUND CONDITIONS

open access: yesSERIES CHEMISTRY AND TECHNOLOGY, 2020
The search for new effective drugs with biologically active properties is one of the urgent problems. Recently, to intensify the process of their synthesis and increase the efficiency of chemical reactions, wave chemistry has been used. Increased interest of researchers is caused by the synthesis of compounds with biologically active properties using ...

A critical role of heterotrophic bacteria in early diagenesis of carbonates through exopolymer degradation and calcium release

open access: yesThe Depositional Record, Volume 12, Issue 1, February 2026.
Exopolymeric substances (EPS) produced in the photic zone and surface sediments sequester calcium. Below the sediment surface, heterotrophic bacteria degrade EPS, releasing calcium resulting in carbonate precipitation. This process, which continues for millennia deep in the core, is an important sink for atmospheric carbon dioxide.

Electrochemical Detection of Dopamine using a Phenyl Carboxylic Acid‐Functionalized Electrode Made by Electrochemical Reduction of a Diazonium Salt

open access: yesChemistryOpen, 2022
A glassy carbon electrode (GCE) has been modified by an in situ electrochemical reduction of an aryldiazonium salt generated from the reaction of 4‐aminobenzoic acid and sodium nitrite in acidic ethanolic solution.

Effects of Increased Water Salinity and Temperature on the Development of Rainbow Trout Fry Syndrome (RTFS) Caused by Flavobacterium psychrophilum

open access: yesJournal of Fish Diseases, Volume 49, Issue 2, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Flavobacterium psychrophilum, the etiological agent of Rainbow Trout Fry Syndrome (RTFS) and Bacterial Coldwater Disease (BCWD), causes varying degrees of disease and mortality in salmonid aquaculture worldwide. Because its treatment relies on the use of antimicrobials, alternative interventions are of environmental and economic interest.

Unprecedented Nitrite‐Dependent Aromatic Amination to Synthesize 2,4‐Diamino‐3‐Hydroxybenzoic Acid

open access: yesChemBioChem, Volume 27, Issue 2, January 2026.
By comparing the biosynthetic gene clusters for natural products with 2,4‐diamino‐3‐hydroxybenzoic acid (2,4,3‐DAHBA) moiety and heterologous expression in Streptomyces albus, we identified nine genes required for the biosynthesis of 2,4,3‐DAHBA, including nitrite biosynthesis genes.
