Syntheses of a series of 3‐alkyl‐4‐ amino‐5‐ cyanomethyl‐4H‐1, 2, 4‐triazoles with active methylene groups are described. The newly synthesized compounds were characterized by spectral and elemental analyses. Some compounds were screened for their antibacterial activity against S. aureus, E. coli, B. subtilis and P. aeruginosa.

Modular carbohydrate‐directed labeling probes (CDLPs) convert weak carbohydrate–protein interactions into durable covalent tags in live cells without the need for multivalency or UV irradiation. Ligand binding triggers proximity‐enabled, glycan‐releasing acyl transfer to install a click handle for protein tagging and chemoproteomic profiling.
