Expression, Purification, and Microscopy‐Based Assays for Engineered Recombinant Tyrosinated, Detyrosinated, and Δ2 Human Tubulin

open access: yesCytoskeleton, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Microtubules are noncovalent polymers assembled from α/β tubulin dimers. Their structure, dynamics and interaction with effectors are regulated through the expression of diverse tubulin isotypes and chemically diverse posttranslational modifications, also known as the “tubulin code.” Understanding the biophysical correlates between tubulin ...

Hyperactive KIF5A in Neurodegeneration

open access: yesCytoskeleton, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The highly polarised morphology of neurons and the sheer length of their axons make transport of cargoes throughout the cell a formidable task. Decades of evidence obtained from genetic studies on patients and animal models highlight deficits in axonal transport as a recurrent cause, or early contributing factor, in a plethora of ...

Genomic Insights Into Risperidone Treatment Outcomes in Children and Adolescents: Experience From a Psychiatric Hospital Serving Rural Youth

open access: yesClinical Pharmacology &Therapeutics, EarlyView.
Risperidone is a commonly used antipsychotic for treating psychiatric illness in children and adolescents. There is a large variability in risperidone response and discontinuation rates remain high. Pharmacogenomics offers the opportunity to improve risperidone outcomes, yet studies in pediatric populations are limited.

Transcriptomic Profiling of SLC and ABC Transporters in the Human Term Placenta

open access: yesClinical Pharmacology &Therapeutics, EarlyView.
Solute carriers (SLC) and ATP‐binding cassette (ABC) transporters are essential for placental solute exchange and fetal protection, yet their transcriptomic profiles in the human placenta remain poorly characterized. Although fetal sex influences placental development and function, its impact on transporter expression is unclear.

Cultural Pathways to Sustainability: How Organizational Cultures Shape Firms' ESG Performance

open access: yesCorporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Management, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Understanding how organizational culture shapes firms' environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance is essential for advancing effective sustainability management. Culture reflects shared values and norms that shape how firms enact ESG principles.

Click Bioconjugation of Aza‐BODIPY Fluorophores to LfcinB Peptides for Improved Biocompatibility

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Organic Chemistry, EarlyView.
Click bioconjugation attaches NIR aza‐BODIPY fluorophores to LfcinB‐derived anticancer peptides via CuAAC and thiol‐maleimide chemistry. Conjugates exhibit improved predicted solubility while retaining strong NIR absorption (703–730 nm). Peptide‐aza‐BODIPY conjugates induce apoptotic morphology in HeLa cancer cells.

Prenatal betamethasone–postnatal N‐methyl‐D‐aspartic acid model of spasms: Update on mechanisms and treatments

open access: yesEpilepsia Open, EarlyView.
Abstract Infantile epilepsy spasms syndrome (IESS), formerly known as infantile spasms or West Syndrome, is a severe epilepsy syndrome affecting about 3 in 10,000 newborns in the United States. Characterized by clusters of epileptic spasms, interictal hypsarrhythmia, and developmental delays, IESS has diverse causes, including structural‐metabolic ...
