Influence of an Argon/Silane Atmosphere on the Temperature of a Thermal Plasma
The influence of a silane‐doped argon atmosphere on the chemical composition and temperature of a thermal nontransferring argon plasma is investigated using optical emission spectroscopy. As a result of the high amount of free electrons resulting from the stepwise ionization and dissociation of the silane molecule, even a silane addition of 0.01 vol ...

Dynamic 5-HT2C receptor editing in a mouse model of obesity.
The central serotonergic signalling system has been shown to play an important role in appetite control and the regulation of food intake. Serotonin exerts its anorectic effects mainly through the 5-HT(1B), 5-HT(2C) and 5-HT(6) receptors and these are ...

The small bowel and functional dyspepsia - peptide hormones and neurotransmitters [PDF]
Functional dyspepsia (FD) is believed to be caused by pathophysiological changes in the upper gut. Gastro-intestinal motility, epithelial transport and signalling is associated with the metabolism of nutrients and the complex regulation of hunger and ...

Surface Tension Measurement of Ti‐6Al‐4V by Falling Droplet Method in Oxygen‐Free Atmosphere
In this article, the temperature‐dependent surface tension of free falling, oscillating Ti‐6Al‐4V droplets is investigated in both argon and monosilane doped, oxygen‐free atmosphere. Droplet temperature and oscillation are captured with one single high‐speed camera, and the surface tension is calculated with Rayleigh's formula.

5-Hydroxytryptamine type 3 (5-HT(3)) receptors are cation-selective Cys loop receptors found in both the central and peripheral nervous systems. There are five 5-HT(3) receptor subunits (A-E), and all functional receptors require at least one A subunit. Regions from noncontiguous parts of the subunit sequence contribute to the agonist-binding site, and

Neural Basis for the Ability of Atypical Antipsychotic Drugs to Improve Cognition in Schizophrenia [PDF]
Cognitive impairments are considered to largely affect functional outcome in patients with schizophrenia, other psychotic illnesses, or mood disorders. Specifically, there is much attention to the role of psychotropic compounds acting on serotonin (5-HT)

Activation of 5-HT 2A Receptor Disrupts Rat Maternal Behavior [PDF]
Serotonin 5-HT2A receptor is widely distributed in the central nervous system and plays an important role in sensorimotor function, emotion regulation, motivation, executive control, learning and memory. We investigated its role in rat maternal behavior,
