Photosynthetic responses and growth dynamics of Allagoptera arenaria (Gomes) Kuntze (Arecaceae) in a chronosequence in a Restinga restoration area

open access: yesPhotosynthetica
Knowledge about plant species' growth dynamics is essential in restoring degraded environments. In this study, we evaluated the growth dynamics of Allagoptera arenaria (Gomes) Kuntze in a chronosequence of plantations in the Restinga.

Energy Band Alignment and Electro‐Optical Behavior of Nearly Unstrained Monolayer MoS2 Heterostructures With GaN

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Large size (∼100 µm) monolayer MoS2 grown by LPI‐CVD on n‐GaN exhibit a high n‐type doping, very low strain, and a type‐I band alignment at MoS2/GaN interface. Photocurrent measurements under illumination with photon energies from ∼2 to ∼5 eV show superior electro‐optical performances of these MoS2/n‐GaN heterojunctions as compared to Ni/n‐GaN devices ...

Acute pancreatitis caused by ceftriaxone-associated biliary pseudolithiasis in an older patient: A case report and literature review

open access: yesRadiology Case Reports
A 73-year-old woman was hospitalized with fever and back pain. Ceftriaxone (2 g/day) was administered due to suspicion of bacterial infection. On hospital day 5, ceftriaxone was replaced with cefepime.

Linking Device Performance to Nanoscale Photoactivation of Grain Boundaries in 2D Hybrid Halide Perovskites

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
The opto‐electronic response of polycrystalline (PEA)2PbBr4 thin films is investigated by correlating macroscopic photodetector performance with nanoscale mapping techniques. Grain boundary density is systematically tuned through crystallization control and linked to device responsivity.

Controlling Film Formation in Inkjet‐printed MAPbBr3 Through Graphene Incorporation for Enhanced Photodetection

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This work highlights the impact of incorporating graphene nanoflakes into precursor inks of MAPbBr3 for inkjet‐printed optoelectronic device applications. A substantial modification of the crystallization dynamics is reported despite miniscule concentrations.

Multifunctional Adhesive Hydrogel for Rapid Cardiac Hemostasis and Antibacterial Protection

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
A multifunctional polyacrylamide/gelatin/tannic acid hydrogel (PGT) is presented for rapid cardiac hemostasis under wet, dynamic conditions. Surface tannic acid coating enables instantaneous wet adhesion, accelerates coagulation, and confers antibacterial activity within a single platform.

Deep‐Tissue Light Generation via Whispering Gallery Mode Lasing From a Commercial Nylon Fiber for Biomedical Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
A dyed nylon fiber is implemented inside the scattering phantom and skin tissue. The deep‐tissue light generation via whispering gallery mode lasing is demonstrated, achieving a depth of >50 times transport mean free path in scattering phantom and 3 mm beneath skin.

A Novel ALDH2 Inhibitor for the Treatment of Alcohol Use Disorder: Preclinical Findings

open access: yesCells
Background: Alcohol use disorder is a common condition with high morbidity and mortality and no highly effective treatments. Achieving and maintaining abstinence is necessary or desired for many persons with AUD, but is difficult due to the nature of the
