Kernel-based adversarial attacks and defenses on support vector classification

open access: yesDigital Communications and Networks, 2022
While malicious samples are widely found in many application fields of machine learning, suitable countermeasures have been investigated in the field of adversarial machine learning. Due to the importance and popularity of Support Vector Machines (SVMs),

Sofic mean dimension [PDF]

open access: yesAdv. Math. 244 (2013), 570--604, 2011
We introduce mean dimensions for continuous actions of countable sofic groups on compact metrizable spaces. These generalize the Gromov-Lindenstrauss-Weiss mean dimensions for actions of countable amenable groups, and are useful for distinguishing continuous actions of countable sofic groups with infinite entropy.

Efficient generation of highly squeezed light and second harmonic wave with periodically poled MgO:LiNbO_3

open access: yes, 2009
We report on effective generation of continuous-wave squeezed light and second harmonics with a periodically poled MgO:LiNbO$_{\mathrm{3}}$ (PPMgLN) crystal which enables us to utilize the large nonlinear optical coefficient $d_{\mathrm{33}}$.

Polyphenol‐Derived Carbonaceous Frameworks with Multiscale Porosity for High‐Power Electrochemical Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This review examines the fluid dynamic behavior within carbonaceous porous structures, linking structural characteristics to electrolyte transport and electrochemical performance. Specifically, it quantitatively assesses the effect of polyphenol derivatives‐harnessed multiscale pore structures on active surface utilization and electrochemical activity ...

The reaction ${n} {p} \to {p} {p} \pi^{-}$ from threshold up to 570 MeV

open access: yes, 2007
The reaction ${n} {p} \to {p} {p} \pi^{-}$ has been studied in a kinematically complete measurement with a large acceptance time-of-flight spectrometer for incident neutron energies between threshold and 570 MeV.

State‐of‐the‐Art, Insights, and Perspectives for MOFs‐Nanocomposites and MOF‐Derived (Nano)Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Different approaches to MOF‐NP composite formation, such as ship‐in‐a‐bottle, bottle‐around‐the‐ship and in situ one‐step synthesis, are used. Owing to synergistic effects, the advantageous features of the components of the composites are beneficially combined, and their individual drawbacks are mitigated.

Reaching generalized critical values of a polynomial [PDF]

open access: yesMath. Z. 276 (2014), no. 1-2, 557-570, 2012
Let f be a real or complex polynomial. We give an algorithm to compute the set of generalized critical values. The algorithm uses a finite dimensional space of rational arcs along which we can reach all generalized critical values of f.
