Diagnostic Challenges of Tuberculous Lymphadenitis Using Polymerase Chain Reaction Analysis: A Case Study

open access: yesCase Reports in Infectious Diseases, 2015
This report presents a case of tuberculous lymphadenitis that was difficult to diagnose using polymerase chain reaction analysis. An 80-year-old Japanese female was hospitalized due to swollen cervical lymph nodes.

Decolorization of Remazol Brilliant Blue (RBBR) and Poly R-478 dyes by Bjerkandera adusta CCBAS 930

open access: yesCentral European Journal of Biology, 2012
An anamorphic Bjerkandera adusta CCBAS 930 strain isolated from soil was found to decolorize two anthraquinonic dyes: Remazol Brilliant Blue R and Poly R-478. The reduction in the level of phenolic compounds in liquid B.

Directional Flow of Confined Polaritons in CrSBr

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
CrSBr, a layered magnetic semiconductor, naturally channels self‐hybridized excitonpolaritons into highly directional flow. Its intrinsic optical anisotropy, high refractive index, and strong lightmatter coupling enable long‐range guided modes along the a‐axis, with propagation lengths set by their excitonphoton admixture.

A Comparative Study on Early‐Stage Icing Evaluation Techniques for Passive Ice Protection Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
This study addresses the lack of standardized methodologies for evaluating the early‐stage icing performance of passive ice protection systems. A unified experimental protocol is proposed and applied to representative hydrophilic and hydrophobic surfaces under controlled conditions.

Nanozymes at the Bio‐Nano Interface: From Synthesis, Defect Engineering, Catalytic Behavior in Biological Microenvironments, and Biosafety Implications

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Nanozymes (NZs) have emerged as versatile artificial enzymes with tunable catalytic properties driven by atomic coordination, defect engineering, and surface chemistry. This review presents a bio–nano interface framework linking synthesis strategies, structural design, and catalytic behavior within complex biological microenvironments.

Transducers Across Scales and Frequencies: A System‐Level Framework for Multiphysics Integration and Co‐Design

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Transducers convert physical signals into electrical and optical representations, yet each mechanism is bounded by intrinsic trade‐offs across bandwidth, sensitivity, speed, and energy. This review maps transduction mechanisms across physical scale and frequency, showing how heterogeneous integration and multiphysics co‐design transform isolated ...

Interplay of Oxidative Stress, Autophagy, and Rubicon in Ovarian Follicle Dynamics: Orchestrating Ovarian Aging

open access: yesAntioxidants
Organ functions generally decline with age, but the ovary is a prototypical organ that undergoes functional loss over time. Autophagy plays a crucial role in maintaining organ homeostasis, and age-related upregulation of the autophagy inhibitor protein ...
