NCY‐1 β‐Lactamase Activity Correlates With Antimicrobial Susceptibility of a Clinical Strain of Nocardia cyriacigeorgica

open access: yesMicrobiologyOpen, Volume 15, Issue 2, April 2026.
This study shows a strong correlation between the β‐lactam susceptibility profile of a clinical isolate of Nocardia cyriacigeorgica and the activity of its β‐lactamase, NCY‐1. Inhibitors of NCY‐1 reduce the minimum inhibitory concentration of amoxicillin.

Pneumatosis Cystoides Intestinalis Mimicking Perforation in a Patient With Gastric Signet Ring Cell Carcinoma: A Case Report

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 3, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Pneumatosis cystoides intestinalis (PCI) poses a diagnostic challenge by radiographically mimicking surgical emergencies like perforation. This case highlights that while PCI itself may be benign, the decision for exploration must weigh the risk of missing a life‐threatening condition or a coincident malignancy.
