Enhancement of Succinic Acid Production by Actinobacillus succinogenes in an Electro-Bioreactor
This work examines the electrochemically enhanced production of succinic acid using the bacterium Actinobacillus succinogenes. The principal objective is to enhance the metabolic potential of glucose and CO2 utilization via the C4 pathway in order to ...

Genomic Positional Dissection of RNA Editomes in Tumor and Normal Samples
RNA editing is phenomenon that occurs in both protein coding and non-coding RNAs. Increasing evidence have shown that adenosine-to-inosine RNA editing can potentially rendering substantial functional effects throughout the genome.

Observation of seasonal variation of atmospheric multiple-muon events in the NOvA Near Detector [PDF]
Using two years of data from the NOvA Near Detector at Fermilab, we report a seasonal variation of cosmic ray induced multiple-muon (Nμ≥2) event rates which has an opposite phase to the seasonal variation in the atmospheric temperature.

Advances in Detection Methods for A‐to‐I
ABSTRACTAdenosine‐to‐inosine (A‐to‐I) RNA editing is a key post‐transcriptional modification that influences gene expression and various cellular processes. Advances in sequencing technologies have greatly contributed to the identification of A‐to‐I editing sites, providing insights into their distribution across coding and non‐coding regions.

Lamarck and immunity: Somatic and germline evolution of antibody genes [PDF]
Current work on the mechanism of hypermutation of somatically rearranged antibody variable (V) genes shows that the most likely mechanism involves both direct DNA modification (deamination of cytosines to uracils by AID deaminase) and strand nicking plus

Adenosine-to-inosine (A-to-I) RNA editing recodes the genome and confers flexibility for the organisms to adapt to the environment. It is believed that RNA recoding sites are well suited for facilitating adaptive evolution by increasing the proteomic ...
