Inactivating SARS‐CoV‐2 Virus with MOF‐Composites as Smart Face Masks
In situ preparation and functionalization of MOF@Cotton fabrics as smart face masks for the immobilization of proteins and inactivation viruses, such as SARS‐CoV‐2. Abstract The significant impact of the SARS‐CoV‐2 (COVID‐19) pandemic outbreak on people's lives has highlighted the urgent need for effective personal protective equipment.

Anthropology Embedded in Worldview Studies: Modernity’s Failure and the Response of Christian Philosophy of Life in a Postmodern Age of Expressivism [PDF]
This thesis examines two divergent streams of thought in Christian philosophy of life represented by the works of Francis Schaeffer and James K. A. Smith in an effort to help Christians live in a postmodern culture. Schaeffer and Smith ultimately address

Coarse Geometry and P. A. Smith Theory
We define a generalization of the fixed point set, called the bounded fixed set, for a group acting by isometries on a metric space. An analogue of the P. A.

MOFs and COFs in Electronics: Bridging the Gap between Intrinsic Properties and Measured Performance
Metal‐organic frameworks (MOFs) and covalent organic frameworks (COFs) hold promise for advanced electronics. However, discrepancies in reported electrical conductivities highlight the importance of measurement methodologies. This review explores intrinsic charge transport mechanisms and extrinsic factors influencing performance, and critically ...

SMITH AT 300: SMITH ON EMPATHY AND SYMPATHY
Smith at 300: Contribution by Philippe Fontaine"For the twenty-first-century student of sympathy, the excerpt above is an obvious reminder that the history of ideas is not just a history of words. Empathy does not appear in that passage, nor in TMS in general, which has often caused confusion among commentators, and yet the “imaginary change of ...

Bioprosthetic aortic valves have revolutionized the treatment of aortic stenosis, but their durability is limited by structural valve deterioration (SVD). This review focuses on the pericardial tissue at the heart of these valves, examining how its mechanical properties and calcification drive fatigue and failure.

SSW library: an SIMD Smith-Waterman C/C++ library for use in genomic applications. [PDF]
The Smith-Waterman algorithm, which produces the optimal pairwise alignment between two sequences, is frequently used as a key component of fast heuristic read mapping and variation detection tools for next-generation sequencing data. Though various fast

Mechanical and Electrical Phenotype of hiPSC‐Cardiomyocytes on Fibronectin‐Based Hydrogels
We introduce fibronectin‐based PEG hydrogels with controlled rigidity to enable the culture of iPSC‐derived cardiomyocytes. These substrates offer an alternative to the current culture of these cells on fibronectin‐coated glass, providing enhanced structural and functional behavior. The system provides a more physiologically relevant platform to assess

Deployable medical devices typically need external stimuli to trigger deployment. However, external stimuli are difficult to supply within tissues. Here, we describe a strategy to deploy small‐scale structures into soft tissues after insertion without the need for any stimulus. We demonstrate deployment within a tissue phantom.
