Static and dynamic accuracy of an innovative miniaturized wearable platform for short range distance measurements for human movement applications [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Magneto-inertial measurement units (MIMU) are a suitable solution to assess human motor performance both indoors and outdoors. However, relevant quantities such as step width and base of support, which play an important role in gait stability, cannot be ...

High synchronization absolute distance measurement using a heterodyne and superheterodyne combined interferometer

open access: yesChinese Optics Letters (COL)
We propose an absolute distance measurement method that employs heterodyne and superheterodyne combined inter-ferometers to achieve synchronous detection and demodulation of multiwavelengths. Coarse and fine synthetic wave-lengths are generated by a dual-

Fringe Disappearance in Self-Mixing Interferometry Laser Sensors: Model and Application to the Absolute Distance Measurement Scheme

open access: yesIEEE Sensors Journal, 2019
The fringes disappearance phenomenon in the self-mixing interferometry occurs whenever the external round-trip phase at free-running state is modulated by either external modulation such as external cavity length changes or internal modulation when the ...

RED GIANT BRANCH OF THE METAL POOR GLOBULAR CLUSTERS: I. BUMP, TIP, AND DISTANCE FROM NEAR INERARED PHOTOMETRY [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Astronomy and Space Sciences, 2006
We use near-infrared observations of eight selected Galactic globular clusters to estimate their distances by comparing the observed and theoretically predicted K magnitudes of the red giant branch bumps and tips.

Long-range, high-precision, and high-speed absolute distance measurement based on alternately oscillating optoelectronic oscillators.

open access: yesOptics Express, 2019
We propose an absolute distance measurement method using alternately oscillating optoelectronic oscillators (OEOs) with high speed, high precision, and long range, and describe the dynamic characteristics of the measurement system.

In vitro models of cancer‐associated fibroblast heterogeneity uncover subtype‐specific effects of CRISPR perturbations

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Development of therapies targeting cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) necessitates preclinical model systems that faithfully represent CAF–tumor biology. We established an in vitro coculture system of patient‐derived pancreatic CAFs and tumor cell lines and demonstrated its recapitulation of primary CAF–tumor biology with single‐cell transcriptomics ...

Detection of circulating tumor DNA in colorectal cancer patients using a methylation‐specific droplet digital PCR multiplex

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We developed a cost‐effective methylation‐specific droplet digital PCR multiplex assay containing tissue‐conserved and tumor‐specific methylation markers. The assay can detect circulating tumor DNA with high accuracy in patients with localized and metastatic colorectal cancer.

Synthetic-wavelength-based dual-comb interferometry for fast and precise absolute distance measurement.

open access: yesOptics Express, 2018
We present an absolute distance measurement system using a phase-stable dual-comb system with 56.09 MHz repetition rate and 2 kHz repetition rate difference.

LINC01116, a hypoxia‐lncRNA marker of pathological lymphangiogenesis and poor prognosis in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The LINC01116 long noncoding RNA is induced by hypoxia and associated with poor prognosis and high recurrence rates in two cohorts of lung adenocarcinoma patients. Here, we demonstrate that besides its expression in cancer cells, LINC01116 is markedly expressed in lymphatic endothelial cells of the tumor stroma in which it participates in hypoxia ...

Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.
