Absorbing set spectrum approach for practical code design [PDF]
This paper focuses on controlling the absorbing set spectrum for a class of regular LDPC codes known as separable, circulant-based (SCB) codes. For a specified circulant matrix, SCB codes all share a common mother matrix, examples of which are array-based LDPC codes and many common quasi-cyclic codes.

An absorbing set for the Chialvo map
The classical Chialvo model, introduced in 1995, is one of the most important models that describe single neuron dynamics. In order to conduct effective numerical analysis of this model, it is necessary to obtain a rigorous estimate for the maximal bounded invariant set.

In a wireless ad hoc network, the size of the virtual backbone (VB) is an important factor for measuring the quality of the VB. The smaller the VB is, the less the overhead caused by the VB.

Let R be a commutative ring with identity and M be a unitary R-module. A proper submodule N of M is 2− absorbing if r1, r2, r3 ∈ R, m ∈ M with r1r2r3m ∈ M implies r1r2m ∈ N or r1r3m ∈ N or r2r3m ∈ N. Let ϕ : S(M) −→ S(M) ∪ {ø} be a function where S(M)

A characterization of absorbing sets in coalition formation games
Given a standard myopic dynamic process among coalition structures, an absorbing set is a minimal collection of such structures that is never left once entered through that process. Absorbing sets are an important solution concept in coalition formation games, but they have drawbacks: they can be large and hard to obtain. In this paper, we characterize

Absorbing Sets in Coalitional Systems [PDF]
The purpose of this paper is twofold: First, to present an approach and a solution for analyzing the stability of coalition structures: We define a coalitional system (a set and a binary relation on that set) that explains the transitions between coalition structures and we propose to solve these systems using the absorbing sets solution for abstract ...

Global dynamics of a fourth-order parabolic equation describing crystal surface growth
In this paper, we study the global dynamics for the solution semiflow of a fourth-order parabolic equation describing crystal surface growth. We show that the equation has a global attractor in H4per(Ω) when the initial value belongs to H1per(Ω).

Myopic-Farsighted Absorbing Networks
We propose the notion of myopic-farsighted absorbing set to determine the networks that emerge in the long run when some players are myopic while others are farsighted.
