Genetic and environmental variation in wood properties of Acacia melanoxylon [PDF]
& Context Australian blackwood (Acacia melanoxylon), is a fast-growing, high-quality, appearance-grade timber species native to eastern Australia. Some of its key wood properties are percentage heartwood, heartwood colour, basic density, wood stiffness and green moisture content. Variation in these properties affects log value, processing and marketing.

Effect of Acacia melanoxylon wood density on papermaking potential [PDF]
In this work we study the behaviour in kraft cooking and papermaking of 6 Acacia melanoxylon wood chip samples, with basic densities of 449, 489, 493, 505, 514 and 616 kg/m3. The wood chip samples were screened and submitted to the kraft cooking process.

Review of larval food plant associations of the Agaristinae (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) in Australia
Abstract The Australian Agaristinae comprises a small group of predominantly diurnal moths with aposematic larvae and adults that are assumed to be unpalatable to most predators. A critical review of the larval food plants of this subfamily based on published records in the literature, together with unpublished records, is presented.
