The impact of age at diagnosis on central lymph node metastasis in clinically low-risk papillary thyroid microcarcinoma patients

open access: yesThyroid Research
Background Age is an independent risk factor for central lymph node metastasis (CLNM) in clinically negative lymph node (cN0) papillary thyroid microcarcinoma (PTMC) patients.

Regulated Ion‐Diffusion Hydrogels for Subtle and Multimodal Temperature‐Strain Sensing in Wound Monitoring

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A soft, dual‐channel hydrogel patch enables simultaneous detection of wound temperature and strain by integrating ion‐diffusion‐mediated thermoelectric and resistive sensing. The conformal design maintains stable performance during motion, capturing subtle inflammatory and mechanical changes for continuous wound monitoring.

Advancing breast cancer biomarkers: a centromere-related gene signature integrated with single-cell analysis for prognostic prediction

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology
BackgroundBreast cancer (BC) is the most common malignancy among women and shows significant heterogeneity in its prognosis. Among the subtypes, triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) has the poorest prognosis.

Texoskeletons: Developing the Fundamental Technologies for Creating Intelligent Soft Robotic Clothing With Integrated 1D Sensors and Actuators

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Traditional wearable exoskeletons rely on rigid structures, which limit comfort, flexibility, and everyday usability. This work introduces the fundamental technologies to create the first soft, lightweight, intelligent textile‐based exoskeletons (Texoskeletons) built using 1D sensors and actuators.

Orbital Geometry‐Governed Response of Pressure‐Tunable Quantum Defects in hBN

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Defects in hBN act as ultrasensitive quantum manometers when the energy of the intradefect optical transitions is modified by lattice compression. The orbital geometry of the electron wave functions governs how electron hopping and Coulomb interactions react uniquely to the reduction of the van der Waals gap and in‐plane compression, leading to robust ...

A Bilayered Inorganic‐Metal Interface Enables Highly Reversible Aluminum Deposition for Long‐Life Aqueous Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A gradient M/MOx (M = Sn, Cu, Cd) synergistic interphase was constructed on Al via a one‐step displacement reaction. This interphase leverages high aluminophilicity and ion‐buffering capability to accelerate desolvation, enhance Al3+ transport, and suppress side reactions, enabling ultrastable symmetric cell operation at 0.05 mA cm−2 for 1800 h with an

Chiral Phase Change Nanomaterials

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates reversible, non‐volatile phase transitions in chiral Ge2${\rm Ge}_2$Sb2${\rm Sb}_2$Te5${\rm Te}_5$ (GST) nanohelices for high‐speed optical modulation of chirality and dynamic control of the state of polarization (SOP). The chiral nanostructures are fabricated using a highly directional, wafer‐scale physical vapor deposition ...
