Gain versus pain from status and ambition: Effects on growth and inequality

open access: yes, 2010
To shed light on growth, distribution and the relationship between the two, we develop an endogenous growth model with heterogeneous individuals who care about social status.

Multiple point rapid measurement method for radon exhalation rate in uranium tailings reservoir and its application

open access: yes四川大学学报. 自然科学版, 2018
Based on the principle of that the equivalent decay constant of perforated accumulation chamber, we propose a new method to rapidly measure the surface radon exhalation rate with multi-point detection technique.

ZW4864‐mediated inhibition of the β‐catenin/BCL9/BCL9L complex reveals therapeutic potential in bladder cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
BCL9 and BCL9L drive bladder cancer progression by enhancing β‐catenin signaling, promoting proliferation, migration, invasion, and organoid growth. Genetic depletion of BCL9(L) suppresses malignant phenotypes, while pharmacological disruption of the β‐catenin/BCL9(L) complex with ZW4864 inhibits canonical Wnt signaling and tumor‐associated cellular ...

Automated FRAP microscopy for high‐throughput analysis of protein dynamics in chromatin organization and transcription

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
RoboMic is an automated confocal microscopy pipeline for high‐throughput functional imaging in living cells. Demonstrated with fluorescence recovery after photobleaching (FRAP), it integrates AI‐driven nuclear segmentation, ROI selection, bleaching, and analysis.

Verification of the applicability of the RAD7 radon monitor to the solid radon source exhalation reference model

open access: yesNuclear Engineering and Technology
The RAD7 radon monitor, based on the electrostatic collection method, is sensitive to humidity during measurements, necessitating the use of a desiccant to maintain the relative humidity in its built-in chamber less than 10 %.

Long‐term hippocampal alterations and cognitive impairment in a murine model of surgical sepsis

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Using a mouse model of surgical sepsis, we tested long‐term memory and analyzed the transcriptome of single cells isolated from the hippocampus. Survivor mice showed worse memory, loss of certain brain cell subpopulations, and abnormal immune cell activity—suggesting that post‐sepsis brain alterations may be linked to cognitive deficits.

Numerical and Experimental Study on Soot Accumulation on the Wall of Falling Fuel Film Micro-Combustor

open access: yes, 2010
Fluid flow contributes much to fuel-air mixture formation in a micro-combustor, the RNG k-ε turbulence model was used to simulate the cold flow field of a falling fuel film microcombustor, and comparison was made between numerical result and experimental

Derivation and characterization of retinal pigment epithelium from urine‐derived iPSCs

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Age‐related macular degeneration causes vision loss via RPE dysfunction and loss. Traditional iPSC therapies rely on invasive biopsies, limiting scalability. Here, we utilize urine‐derived stem cells as an accessible source to generate u‐iPSCs, successfully differentiated into pigmented RPE. This “Urine‐to‐Retina” platform provides a promising path for

Optimizing chamber methods for measuring nitrous oxide emissions from plot-based agricultural experiments

open access: yes, 2014
Nitrous oxide emissions (N2O) from agricultural land are spatially and temporally variable. Most emission measurements are made with small (MUCH LESS-THAN 1 m(2) area) static chambers.

Acute caffeine treatment protects the developing retina from ischemia‐induced cell death

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Caffeine reduces cell death in the developing retina under ischemia (OGD). This effect does not involve BDNF upregulation or antioxidant pathways (NRF2/VEGF). Neuroprotection occurs mainly through adenosine A2A receptor antagonism, decreasing glutamate release and excitotoxicity, highlighting caffeine's potential as an acute neuroprotective agent in ...
