Generation and accumulation of point defects in FCC single crystals upon plastic strain

A model of point defect generation and accumulation in a FCC crystal upon strain with a constant rate at room temperature is suggested in the present work. The model results are in agreement with the available experimental data. The influence of point defects on the formation of fragmented substructures is analyzed.

In this study, the phenomenon of accumulation of residual plastic deformation is numerically evaluated for a stiffened panel subjected to uniaxial cyclic loading. In particular, three strategies are investigated through the use of FEM (Finite Element Method) in the ADINA Software environment.
