Bonding of similar AA3105 aluminum alloy by Accumulative Roll Bonding process [PDF]
Accumulative roll-bonding (ARB) is a novel plastic straining process aimed at bonding of similar and dissimilar metal combinations. Moreover, it is used recently to produce ultrafine grain materials and metal matrix reinforced composites to enhance mechanical, electrical, and corrosion resistance properties.

The Evolution of the Structure and Mechanical Properties of Aluminum During Accumulative Roll Bonding [PDF]
The dependence of microstructure, microhardness, and strength properties in tensile strain tests of commercially pure aluminum on strain during accumulative roll-bonding was studied. The methods of transmission electron microscopy and electron back scattered diffraction patterns analysis were used to establish that a lamellar ultrafine structure is ...

Light-weight materials produced by accumulative roll bonding [PDF]
The work presented in this thesis is an experimental study of roll bonding and accumulative roll bonding of similar and dissimilar metal combinations with special focus on bond strength evaluation, post process heat treatments and layer continuity of the harder phase. Three objectives have been pursued.

Accumulative Roll Bonding of 7075 Aluminium Alloy at High Temperature
The 7075 Al alloy was processed by accumulative roll bonding (ARB) at 300, 350 and 400 °C. The microstructure and texture were characterized and the hardness was measured. Cell/(sub)grain sizes less than 500 nm and typical β-fibre rolling texture were observed in the three ARBed samples.

Bond Strength of Ultrafine Grained Zr Fabricated by Accumulative Roll Bonding
The bond strength of ultrafine grained Zr with a grain size of 0.4 µm, fabricated by accumulative roll bonding (ARB), was assessed. The shear strength of the bond was estimated to be about 20% of the shear fracture strength of the as processed metal, a ratio significantly higher than that found in other materials processed by similar methods.

Accumulative roll bonding of multilayered aluminium alloys
Multilayered aluminium alloy composites were produced by accumulative roll bonding (ARB) to very high strain to generate sheet materials consisting of either 32 or 64 alternating layers of Al and Al-0.3w.%Sc alloy. Based on the starting heat treatment condition of the Al(Sc) alloy and the roll bonding temperature, several different Al/Al(Sc ...
