[Synthesis and activity of ACE inhibitory peptides].

Yao xue xue bao = Acta pharmaceutica Sinica, 2012
To find anti-hypertensive lead drug, angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitory peptides were synthesized and their effects on inhibiting ACE activity were investigated. ACE inhibitory peptides were synthesized via Fmoc solid-phase synthesis, isolated and purified through reversed phase high-performance liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC), and ...

ACE-inhibitory activity of enzymatic protein hydrolysates from lupin and other legumes

Food Chemistry, 2014
The objective of this investigation was to compare the angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE)-inhibitory activity of the hydrolysates obtained by pepsin digestion of proteins of some legumes, such as chickpea, common bean, lentil, lupin, pea, and soybean, by using the same experimental procedure.

Effect of timing of administration on the plasma ACE inhibitory activity and the antihypertensive effect of quinapril

Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics, 1992
To assess whether timing of administration can influence the antihypertensive effect of quinapril, 18 patients with hypertension were studied with noninvasive ambulatory blood pressure monitoring. Quinapril, 20 mg, was given at 8 AM or 10 PM for 4 weeks in a double-blind crossover fashion.

Improvement of ACE inhibitory activity of casein hydrolysate by Maillard reaction with xylose

Journal of the Science of Food and Agriculture, 2014
AbstractBACKGROUNDThe Maillard reaction is widely used to improve the functional properties or biological activities of food. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of the Maillard reaction on angiotensin I converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitory activity in a casein hydrolysate–xylose system.RESULTSTwo‐step hydrolysis was used to prepare ...

Rational module substitution strategy to enhance ACE-inhibitory peptide activity

Food Chemistry
Food-derived angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE)-inhibitory peptide plays key roles in hypertension prevention, however, their activity is dependent on specific sequence composition. This study aims to enhance peptide activity using a module substitution strategy.

The synthesis and Angiotensin Converting Enzyme (ACE) inhibitory activity of chalcones and their pyrazole derivatives

Bioorganic & Medicinal Chemistry Letters, 2010
A series of chalcones (1-9) and pyrazoles (10-18) was prepared to investigate their potential activity as Angiotensin I-Converting Enzyme (ACE) inhibitors. Their structures were verified by elemental analysis, UV, IR, MS, (1)H NMR, (13)C NMR, and 2D NMR experiments. Among tested compounds, chalcone 7 exerted the highest activity with an IC(50) value of

A comparative study of the antioxidant and ACE inhibitory activities of selected herbal extracts

Journal of Herbal Medicine, 2020
Abstract Some herbal bioactives possess high antioxidant and angiotensin converting enzymes (ACE) inhibition activity, which affects blood pressure levels. Herbal bioactives promote health benefits via different molecular mechanisms and most of these mechanisms are yet to be fully elucidated.

Legume proteins : ACE-inhibitory activity of enzymatic hydrolysates

2014
The enzymatic hydrolysis of legume proteins produce peptide mixtures able to inhibit angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE), that is involved in the renin-angiotensin system for the regulation of blood pressure [1]. In this work ACE-inhibitory activity of hydrolysates obtained by pepsin digestion of proteins of some legumes, such as chickpea, common bean,
