Since acetic acid inhibits the growth and fermentation ability of Saccharomyces cerevisiae, it is one of the practical hindrances to the efficient production of bioethanol from a lignocellulosic biomass.

Removal of gaseous acetic acid using ionic liquid [EMIM][BF4]
This work proposed to use the ionic liquid [EMIM][BF4] as absorbent for the absorption of gaseous acetic acid. The feasibility of this technology was investigated from molecular level to industrial scale. The acetic acid absorption experiment was carried

Acetic acid separation from anaerobically treated palm oil mill effluent by ion exchange resins for the production of polyhydroxyalkanoate by Alcaligenes eutrophus [PDF]
Separation of acetic acid from palm oil mill effluent (POME) to increase its concentration by an anion exchange resin was examined as a preliminary study for its recovery from POME that had been anaerobically treated by sludge from a palm oil mill.

Enteropathogenic E. coli (EPEC) infects the human intestinal epithelium, resulting in severe illness and diarrhoea. In this study, we compared the infection of cancer‐derived cell lines with human organoid‐derived models of the small intestine. We observed a delayed in attachment, inflammation and cell death on primary cells, indicating that host ...

ITGAV and SMAD4 influence the progression and clinical outcome of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma
In SMAD4‐positive pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC), integrin subunit alpha V (ITGAV) activates latent TGF‐β, which binds to the TGF‐β receptor and phosphorylates SMAD2/3. The activated SMAD2/3 forms a complex with SMAD4, and together they translocate to the nucleus, modulating gene expression to promote proliferation, migration, and invasion. In

Esterification of Acetic Acid with Butanol: Operation in a Packed Bed Reactive Distillation Column [PDF]
The esterification reaction between acetic acid and butanol was investigated in a reactive distillation column. The thermodynamic aspects of considered system are discussed, equilibrium constant, vapor pressures and UNIQUAC interaction parameters were ...

Proteomic and phosphoproteomic analyses were performed on lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) tumors with EGFR, KRAS, or EML4–ALK alterations and wild‐type cases. Distinct protein expression and phosphorylation patterns were identified, especially in EGFR‐mutated tumors. Key altered pathways included vesicle transport and RNA splicing.

In the liver of rats, monocarboxylic 3-thia fatty acids, tridecylthioacetic acid (C13-S-acetic acid) and tetradecylthioacetic acid (C14-S-acetic acid), increase the mRNA levels of delta 9-desaturase both in a time- and dose-dependent manner.
