Muscle cramp susceptibility is associated with muscle‐specific modulation of human motoneuron discharge patterns

open access: yesExperimental Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract Muscle cramps are painful, involuntary contractions thought to arise from altered spinal motoneuron excitability, potentially involving persistent inward currents (PICs). We examined whether cramp susceptibility is associated with altered PIC‐related motoneuron behaviour and whether electrically induced cramp modifies these estimates.

Caloric restriction and aerobic exercise differentially counteract muscle–tendon dysfunction following diet‐induced obesity in C57BL/6J mice

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract figure legend Diet‐induced obesity induced fibro‐adipogenic remodelling of the muscle–tendon unit, characterized by increased fibrosis, reduced specific force, impaired relaxation kinetics, elevated hysteresis, and reduced aerobic capacity and glucose tolerance.

Examining the use and weight transfer of four custom‐made partial hindlimb exoprostheses for a dog

open access: yesVeterinary Record Open, Volume 13, Issue 2, December 2026.
Abstract Background Limb exoprosthetics in veterinary medicine are less developed than in human medicine. This case study evaluates four custom‐made hindlimb exoprostheses for a 6‐year‐old dog following metatarsal amputation due to a train accident.

I stumbled when I saw: Fieldwork, fallibility, and the politics of being wrong

open access: yesAnthropology and Humanism, Volume 51, Issue 2, December 2026.
Abstract What does it mean for an anthropologist to be wrong? This essay takes the question seriously in two registers at once: the everyday mistakes of fieldwork, from mistranslating a greeting to misreading a shaved head as a sign of mourning, and the deeper entitlement through which our discipline claimed authority over other people's languages and ...

Tumor Infiltrating Lymphocyte Therapy Combined With PD‐1/LAG‐3 Inhibition in Patients With Recurrent Platinum‐Resistant Ovarian Cancer

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, Volume 159, Issue 7, Page 1735-1749, 1 October 2026.
The detection of tumor‐infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) is a positive prognostic factor in ovarian cancer. Moreover, TILs are significantly boosted by immunotherapy, though ovarian cancer patients have seen limited benefit from immune therapies. This study investigated the safety and feasibility of TIL therapy combined with PD‐1 and LAG‐3 inhibitors in ...

Real‐World Outcomes of Nivolumab and Ipilimumab in Metastatic Melanoma as Third Line and Beyond

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, Volume 159, Issue 7, Page 1780-1787, 1 October 2026.
Progression after anti‐PD‐1‐based therapy is a predominant scenario in metastatic melanoma. However, real‐world data informing treatment of metastatic melanoma in later lines remains scarce. This retrospective nationwide, population‐based cohort study shows in a real‐world setting that nivolumab plus ipilimumab can induce durable responses beyond the ...

Bone Marrow Mesenchymal Stem Cells Rescue Tendon Injury by Regulating FTO‐Mediated m6A Methylation of ELOB

open access: yesJournal of Biochemical and Molecular Toxicology, Volume 40, Issue 9, September 2026.
Bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) promote tendon injury repair by enhancing tenocyte function and regulating the FTO/m6A/ELOB axis. Mechanistically, BMSCs lead to the upregulation of FTO and m6A modification, which subsequently suppresses ELOB expression.

Rocker Geometry in Running Footwear: A Scoping Review of Definitions, Commercial Descriptors and Outcome Measures

open access: yesJournal of Foot and Ankle Research, Volume 19, Issue 3, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Rockered midsoles are increasingly used in running footwear, yet definitions, terminology and outcome measures vary widely across research and commercial sectors. Aim This scoping review mapped how rockers are defined in academic literature, how major footwear brands describe them and which outcome measures are most frequently ...
