Distribution of Phosphate Solubilizing Bacteria and Soil Phosphatase Activity in Different Land Uses

open access: yesمجله آب و خاک, 2016
Introduction: Phosphorous is one of the essential macronutrients for plant growth and development but its mobility in soil is very low. The utilization of the soil biological potential, in particular phosphate solubilizing bacteria, is an efficient way ...

Iron homeostasis disruption and lipid peroxidation in skeletal muscle during short‐term immobilization

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
14‐day casting‐induced immobilization reduced gastrocnemius muscle mass and increased non‐heme iron and ferritin heavy chain levels. Despite iron accumulation, transferrin receptor 1 and iron regulatory protein 2 were paradoxically upregulated. Lipid peroxidation was elevated without compensatory antioxidant responses.

The effect of endodontic filling agents on the activity of the regeneration processes of bone tissue in the experiment

open access: yesJournal of Medical Science, 2018
Introduction. Highly important is to regenerate the inflammatory destructive processes of bone tissue outside the apical area of the tooth that would optimize reparative bone formation, mineralization of tooth tissues, restoration of periodontal function

Ecological role of surface phosphatase activities of Rivulariaceae [PDF]

open access: yes, 1996
The literature suggests that the cyanobacterium Rivularia is found at sites where organic phosphorus (P), at times forms a high proportion of total P in the environment.

Combined 5‐aminolevulinic acid and ferric ammonium citrate treatment promotes hair follicle growth by activating dermal papilla cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
5‐Aminolevulinic acid combined with ferric ammonium citrate (5‐ALA/FAC) stimulates dermal papilla cell activity and promotes hair follicle growth. The treatment enhances ERK and AKT signaling, increases hair‐inductive gene expression, and restores dermal papilla function suppressed by dihydrotestosterone and oxidative stress, resulting in enhanced hair

Distribution and Alkaline phosphatatase activity of filamentous conjugales in an upper Teesdale stream [PDF]

open access: yes, 1992
Two small streams in Upper Teesdale National Nature Reserve were examined with respect to water chemistry and filamentous Conjugales present. Phosphate, nitrate and ammonia concentrations in the water were determined, to investigate a possible link ...

ELECTROPHORETIC SEPARATION OF MULTIPLE FORMS OF PARTICLE ASSOCIATED ACID PHOSPHATASE [PDF]

open access: yes, 1964
The acid phosphatases of rat liver mitochondrial-lysosomal fractions have been examined by quantitative and electrophoretic means. Disruption of mitochondrial-lysosomal material by freeze-thawing, sonication, or by blendor treatment released ...

Large‐scale bidirectional arrayed genetic screens identify OXR1 and EMC4 as modifiers of αSynuclein aggregation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.
