Acid phosphatase and phosphoamino acid phosphatases in murine erythroleukaemic cells
International Journal of Biochemistry, 1985The activities of acid and alkaline phosphatases and phosphotyrosine, phosphoserine and phosphothreonine phosphatases were measured in Friend murine erythroleukaemic (MEL) cells. The effects of treating the cells with dimethyl sulphoxide (DMSO), an inducer of differentiation, were examined.

Cytochemistry of the Acid Phosphatases
Journal of Histotechnology, 1980AbstractCytochemistry of acid phosphatases has recently enjoyed an increase in clinical application. Better known among these methods is the tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase stain for the hairy cells of hairy-cell leukemia. The demonstration of prostatic acid phosphatase in tumor cells outside the prostate may further aid in the detection of ...

Lysosomal acid pyrophosphatase and acid phosphatase
Archives of Biochemistry and Biophysics, 1968Acid pyrophosphatase, hydrolyzing ATP and other nucleoside triphosphates, PPi, thiamine diphosphate, and FAD, has been purified from rat liver homogenate and was separated from acid phosphatase by chromatography on CM-cellulose. ATP and PPi were hydrolyzed most rapidly at pH 5–5.4. The Km values were 0.19 mm ATP and 0.07 mm PPi.

Structure of Acid Phosphatases
2013Acid phosphatases are enzymes that have been studied extensively due to the fact that their dysregulation is associated with pathophysiological conditions. This characteristic has been exploited for the development of diagnostic and therapeutic methods.

ABSTRACTThe combined action of proteinases/peptidases and acid phosphatases on phosphorylated proteins/peptides could be important for cheese quality. It seems that acid phosphatase activity in cheese originates from milk and microorganisms. Bovine milk contains more than one acid phosphatase, which are distributed between the cream and skim milk.

Acid phosphatases inDrosophila auraria
Experientia, 1976A study was carried out dealing with the acid phosphatases, in larvae, pupae and adults of Drosophila auraria. The most interesting finding is that the acid phosphatases are observed in 3 different phenotypes appearing as groups of 3 bands of different mobilities in the homozygotes and giving a 5 band phenotype in the heterozygote.

A Molecular Description of Acid Phosphatase
Applied Biochemistry and Biotechnology, 2012Acid phosphatase is ubiquitous in distribution in various organisms. Although it catalyzes simple hydrolytic reactions, it is considered as an interesting enzyme in biological systems due to its involvement in different physiological activities. However, earlier reviews on acid phosphatase reveal some fragmentary information and do not give a holistic ...

A Golgi apparatus acid phosphatase
Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Enzymology, 1973Abstract Isolated Golgi apparatus fractions and total homogenates from rat testis were examined for acid phosphatase activity (orthophosphoric monoester phosphohydrolase, EC 3.1.3.2). A comparison of pH optima and substrate specificity of the acid phosphatase activity both in homogenates and in the purified Golgi apparatus fraction suggested an ...
