Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Demonstration of astrocytes in cultured amniotic fluid cells of three cases with neural-tube defect [PDF]

open access: yes, 1981
We have investigated the origin of rapidly adhering (RA) cells in three cases of neural tube defects (two anencephali, one encephalocele). We were able to demonstrate the presence of glial fibrillary acidic (GFA) protein in variable percentages (4–80 ...

Linking neurogenesis, oligodendrogenesis, and myelination defects to neurodevelopmental disruption in primary mitochondrial disorders

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mitochondrial remodeling shapes neural and glial lineage progression by matching metabolic supply with demand. Elevated OXPHOS supports differentiation and myelin formation, while myelin compaction lowers mitochondrial dependence, revealing mitochondria as key drivers of developmental energy adaptation.

Evaluation of lipid-based formulations of poorly water-soluble drugs in the gastro-intestinal tract using in vitro tests [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Novel active pharmaceutical ingredients are often poorly water-soluble. Such compounds may only partially dissolve or may precipitate during intestinal passage, potentially leading to incomplete drug absorption. Despite the importance of the process, the

In situ monitoring of the transpassivation and repassivation of the passive film on nitinol biomaterial by scanning electrochemical microscopy

open access: yesElectrochemistry Communications, 2019
In our recent experiments the behavior of a nitinol sample used as an implant was examined using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), scanning electrochemical microscopy (SECM) and atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS).

The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.

Septin 9 PB domains coordinate centrosome positioning and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Septin 9 polybasic domains couple phosphoinositide‐rich membrane binding to centrosome positioning, Golgi organization, and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity. Their loss disrupts this axis, causing centrosome mispositioning, Golgi fragmentation, reduced microtubule acetylation, and polarity inversion via upregulation of the ...

Low Platinum-Loaded Molybdenum Co-catalyst for the Hydrogen Evolution Reaction in Alkaline and Acidic Media

open access: yes, 2022
Developing an efficient catalytic system for electrolysis with reduced platinum (Pt) loading while maintaining performance comparable to bulk platinum metal is important to decrease costs and improve scalability of the hydrogen fuel economy.

Free radical polymerization of allylamine in different acidic media

open access: yesPolymers and Polymer Composites, 2022
The complex formation between allylamine and mineral acids (HCl, H 2 SO 4, H 3 PO 4 ) and their stabilities were investigated by Uv-Vis, DSC and TGA analyses.
