Electrooxidation of methanol on doped polypyrrole films in acidic media

open access: yes, 2001
Electrooxidation of methanol was realised on platinum and perchlorate anion doped polypyrrole film electrodes in acidic media. A systematic kinetic investigation was performed and optimum experimental conditions for the preparation of the ...

The Effect of Erosive Media on the Mechanical Properties of CAD/CAM Composite Materials

open access: yesJournal of Functional Biomaterials
This study aimed to investigate the effect of acidic media storage (gastric acid and Coca-Cola) on the mechanical properties of CAD/CAM materials. Three types of materials were tested: a polymer-infiltrated ceramic network (PICN) (Vita Enamic (En), VITA ...

Protonation of citraconic and glutaconic acid in perchloric acid media

open access: yesTechnologica Acta : Scientific/professional journal of chemistry and technology, 2019
The protonation process of citraconic and glutaconic acid in perchloric acid media was followed using the method of UV spectroscopy. The observed changes in the UV spectra of investigated acids confirmed that the protonation process in perchloric acid with concentration from 5 to 10 mol/dm3 occurred.

Structural insights and therapeutic targets in Acinetobacter baumannii capsule biosynthesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Hypervirulent KL49 A. baumannii's capsular polysaccharide contains the nonulosonic acid 8‐epi‐Leg5,7Ac2, synthesized by epimerization via ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC. Crystal structures of ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC reveal their role in CMP‐Leg5,7Ac2 synthesis and regioselective C8 epimerization.

Concentrator cell methodology in the regeneration and recycle of chromium etching solutions using membrane technology

open access: yes, 2006
The regeneration of chromium (VI) and the recovery of etched copper from chromium etching solutions by electrodialysis is improved by the addition of a concentrator cell, using ion exchange resins or activated carbon cloth as concentrator media, in the ...

Hydroxyapatite nanoparticles: an alternative to conventional phosphorus fertilizers in acidic culture media

open access: yes, 2023
Background Traditional phosphorus fertilizers generally have low efficiencies due to their immobilization in soil, and a large part of these fertilizers are not plant-available. Also, phosphorus resources are non-renewable.

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Experimental and DFT studies of porous carbon covalently functionalized by polyaniline as a corrosion inhibition barrier on nickel-based alloys in acidic media

open access: yes, 2020
In acidic medium, nickel alloys severely suffer from long term corrosion problems as a result of the breakdown of their passivating oxide. The present study considers polyaniline functionalized fish-scale graphitic carbon as an anticorrosion coating on ...
