2023
Acipenser baerii Brandt, 1869 Remarks. This species was reported by Mousavi-Sabet et al.(2019) from Tigris River. 34°33′0.39′′N, 045°46′20.02′′E) and from the Ghuretu Stream where it enters the reservoir (34°32′42.11′′N, 45°47′33.59′′E) (both about 1.5-3.5 km away from the cage-culture farm within the reservoir) in the Tigris-Euphrates basin ...

Mitochondrial genome of the Siberian sturgeonAcipenser baerii

Mitochondrial DNA, 2012
The complete mitochondrial genome of Siberian sturgeon Acipenser baerii had been determined. The total length of the mitogenome was 16,763 bp and had 13 protein-coding, 22 tRNA, and 2 rRNA genes. Except for the eight tRNA and Nd6 genes, all other mitochondrial genes are encoded on the heavy strand. The overall base composition of the heavy strand is 30.

Osmoregulation in juvenile Siberian sturgeon (Acipenser baerii)

Fish Physiology and Biochemistry, 2002
The osmoregulation capabilities of juvenile Siberian sturgeon exposed to three experimental osmolalities (22, 250 and 387 mOsmol kg−1) were studied over a 45-day period. Growth performance, haematological parameters, ion concentrations, gill and spiral valve Na+-K+-ATPase activities, as well as gill and spiral valve histology, were measured. At the end

A Comment on the Siberian, Acipenser baerii, and Russian, Acipenser gueldenstaedtii, Sturgeons

Environmental Biology of Fishes, 2004
Contrary to the opinion of Kynard et al. (2002), the Siberian sturgeon, Acipenser baerii, does not belong to the Ponto-Caspian species. It inhabits Siberian rivers and Lake Baikal. Acipenser baerii is a typical potamodromous species and the comparison of the behavior of its embryos and larvae with those of the anadromous Russian sturgeon, Acipenser ...

Siberian sturgeon Acipenser baerii in the River Pechora

Journal of Ichthyology, 2007
The paper reports the first reliable capture since the last 150 yr of two sturgeons in the basin of the River Pechora. Both specimens had the systematic traits of the Siberian sturgeon Acipenser baerii but differed significantly in external morphology. Data on biological traits and morphological parameters of the fish are presented.

New extender for cryopreservation of Siberian sturgeon (Acipenser baerii) semen

Cryobiology, 2015
The goal of this study was to develop a simple glucose-methanol extender for cryopreservation of Siberian sturgeon (Acipenser baerii) semen. Semen quality was assessed by determining post-thaw sperm motility and fertilizing ability at hatching stage. We tested the effect of glucose concentration (0, 0.10, 0.15, 0.20 and 0.30 M) in a methanol extender ...

Motility analysis and energetics of the Siberian sturgeon Acipenser baerii spermatozoa

Journal of Applied Ichthyology, 1999
