The Ultraviolet Absorption Spectra of the Acridone Alkaloids. I. Compounds containing the Acridone Nucleus

The ultraviolet spectra of the acridone alkaloids and some derivatives have been studied. The various bands in the spectra of these compounds are interpreted by starting with theoretical treatments of the spectrum of anthracene and tracing spectral changes through acridine and phenazine to acridone.

Antileishmanial and antifungal acridone derivatives from the roots of Thamnosma rhodesica

Eight furanocoumarins, one coumarin and four acridone derivatives have been identified in the roots of Thamnosma rhodesica (Rutaceae). Rhodesiacridone, one of these acridone derivatives, is reported here for the first time.
