Characterization of Triacylglycerol Dynamics and Lipid Metabolism in the Beetle Tribolium castaneum

open access: yesArchives of Insect Biochemistry and Physiology, Volume 120, Issue 3, November 2025.
Tribolium castaneum larvae accumulate triacylglycerol (TAG) during development, while adults rapidly deplete reserves post‐emergence. Under starvation, beetles prioritize protein catabolism over lipid mobilization, despite increased expression of lipolysis genes, revealing stage‐specific metabolic adaptations in this model insect.

Accelerated Incubation Method for Identification of Boreal Soils With Hypersulfidic Material

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Soil Science, Volume 76, Issue 6, November–December 2025.
ABSTRACT Sulfide‐bearing sediments (i.e., soils with hypersulfidic material) occur worldwide in many coastal and inland freshwater settings, that if exposed to oxidation, will transform to acid sulfate soils (ASS; a soil with sulfuric material) mobilizing acidity and metals into watercourses with serious environmental consequences and damage to ...

Integrating Metabolic Modulation and Nanomedicine for Cancer Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 40, October 27, 2025.
Metabolic rewiring in cancer is mapped across glucose, amino acid, lipid, nucleotide, and mitochondrial pathways, with emphasis on immune regulation. The review integrates mechanisms linking these pathways to tumor progression and therapy resistance, and profiles nanomaterial platforms that both deliver therapeutics and actively reprogram ...

RRM2‐targeted nanocarrier enhances radiofrequency ablation efficacy in hepatocellular carcinoma through ferroptosis amplification and immune remodeling

open access: yesiMeta, Volume 4, Issue 5, October 2025.
This study proposes an innovative therapeutic approach by combining RRM2 gene knockout with a nanocarrier system, significantly enhancing the efficacy of radiofrequency ablation for hepatocellular carcinoma. The study developed a tumor microenvironment‐responsive nanosystem that achieves synergistic effects through SPIO‐mediated and RRM2 knockout ...

Therapeutic potential of hesperidin in diabetes mellitus‐induced erectile dysfunction through Nrf2‐mediated ferroptosis and oxidative stress

open access: yesAndrology, Volume 13, Issue 7, Page 1702-1714, October 2025.
Abstract Background Among erectile dysfunction (ED) caused by metabolic abnormalities, diabetes mellitus‐induced ED (DMED) progresses rapidly, manifests with severe symptoms, and shows reduced responsiveness to conventional medications. Hyperglycemia in the corpus cavernosum has been linked to the induction of both ferroptosis and oxidative stress ...
