Kaons: Review and Outlook [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
This article presents a review of recent results and an outlook of kaon physics. After enjoying a renaissance, the discipline is now becoming and endangered species. Action will be needed to keep kaon physics at the heart of future FPCP meetings.Comment:

A stepwise emergence of evolution in the RNA world

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
How did biological evolution emerge from chemical reactions? This perspective proposes a gradual scenario of self‐organization among RNA molecules, where catalytic feedback on random mixtures plays the central role. Short oligomers cross‐ligate, and self‐assembly enables heritable variations. An event of template‐externalization marks the transition to

A Probe into the Evolution of Primordial Perturbations in the f(T) Gravity Framework with Chaplygin Gas

open access: yesParticles
This work is focused on studying the cosmology of variable modified Chaplygin gas (VMCG) in the framework of exponential and logarithmic f(T) theory. The equation of state (EoS) for VMCG in exponential and logarithmic f(T) gravity shows quintom behavior.

K. S. Stanislavski and the physical action [PDF]

open access: yesTimisoara Physical Education and Rehabilitation Journal, 2017
Abstract We note that the physical action in the K. Stanislavski's system expresses the same meaning as the motor action in the field of Physic Education, consisting in accomplishing a task with the help of the skeletal muscles, mainly, of the physical exercise.

Universality of Level Spacing Distributions in Classical Chaos

open access: yes, 2007
We suggest that random matrix theory applied to a classical action matrix can be used in classical physics to distinguish chaotic from non-chaotic behavior. We consider the 2-D stadium billiard system as well as the 2-D anharmonic and harmonic oscillator.

B cell mechanobiology in health and disease: emerging techniques and insights into therapeutic responses

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
B cells sense external mechanical forces and convert them into biochemical signals through mechanotransduction. Understanding how malignant B cells respond to physical stimuli represents a groundbreaking area of research. This review examines the key mechano‐related molecules and pathways in B lymphocytes, highlights the most relevant techniques to ...

4. Epidemics, Regulations, and Aristotle's Physics of Motion

open access: yesJournal of Interdisciplinary History of Ideas, 2021
The current polarization in public debate surrounding governmental regulatory responses to the Covid-19 pandemic is often portrayed as conflict between individual freedom and state control.

P‐glycoprotein modulates the fluidity gradient of the plasma membrane of multidrug resistant CHO cells

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
To explore the impact of the overexpression of the multidrug‐transporter P‐glycoprotein (ABCB1) on membrane fluidity, we compared the transversal gradient of mobility and microviscosity in plasma membranes of drug‐sensitive Chinese hamster ovary cells (AuxB1) and their multidrug‐resistant derivatives (B30) using the fluorescent n‐(9‐anthroyloxy) fatty ...

Tests of Hypercubic Fermion Actions [PDF]

open access: yesPhys.Rev.D58:094503,1998, 1998
I have performed scaling tests using quenched spectroscopy of a family of fermion actions which have a hypercubic kinetic term, gauge connections built of smeared links, and an anomalous magnetic moment term. These actions show improved rotational invariance compared to the standard Wilson action and to the tadpole-improved clover action.
