Association Between Temperature Management Using Passive Thermal Insulation and a Modified Aldrete Score During Cryoablation of Paroxysmal Atrial Fibrillation Under General Anesthesia

open access: yesJournal of Arrhythmia, Volume 42, Issue 5, October 2026.
This study demonstrated that the Δ in core temperature was significantly lower in the Blanket (blue bar) group than in the Control (red bar) group and the passive thermal insulation using heat insulation blankets significantly decreased the rate of hypothermia‐induced unsuccessful early recovery from general anesthesia from 64% to 37%.

2026 Asia Pacific Heart Rhythm Society (APHRS) Guidelines (Part II) on Stroke Prevention in Atrial Fibrillation

open access: yesJournal of Arrhythmia, Volume 42, Issue 5, October 2026.
ABSTRACT The 2026 Asia Pacific Heart Rhythm Society (APHRS) Guidelines represent the first comprehensive APHRS guidelines dedicated to the management of atrial fibrillation (AF) and comprise four parts covering epidemiology, detection/screening and integrated care; stroke prevention; rate and rhythm control; and lifestyle risk factor and comorbidity ...

Massive Left Atrial Thrombosis Shortly After Radiofrequency Catheter Ablation: Implications of Reduced Flow Dynamics Detected by Four‐Dimensional Flow Magnetic Resonance Imaging

open access: yesJournal of Arrhythmia, Volume 42, Issue 5, October 2026.
A large left atrial (LA) thrombus developed 5 days after repeated ablation for persistent atrial fibrillation despite uninterrupted anticoagulation. The thrombus formed at the previously ablated LA roof, where four‐dimensional flow magnetic resonance imaging later showed reduced regional flow velocity, suggesting that persistent local flow stagnation ...

Machine Learning‐Driven Noninvasive Prediction of Liver Fibrosis in Unclassified Liver Disease

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 10, October 2026.
Using a biopsy‐confirmed cohort of 503 patients with chronic liver disease of uncertain or clinically ambiguous etiology, we developed an interpretable machine‐learning framework for the noninvasive identification of significant liver fibrosis, defined as Scheuer stage S≥2.

Activated Clotting Time‐Guided Systemic Heparinization as One Component of a Stepwise Salvage Algorithm for Inadequate Internal Mammary Artery Flow in Microsurgical Breast Reconstruction

open access: yesMicrosurgery, Volume 46, Issue 7, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Background The internal mammary vessels are commonly used as recipient vessels for free flap breast reconstruction. However, inadequate arterial flow may be encountered intraoperatively. This hypothesis‐generating study evaluated the safety and feasibility of activated clotting time (ACT)‐guided systemic heparinization as one component of a ...

Analysis of Factors Influencing Postoperative Drainage Following Reduction Mammoplasty

open access: yesNursing Open, Volume 13, Issue 10, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Aim To explore factors influencing postoperative drainage volume and duration after reduction mammoplasty for perioperative nursing. Design A retrospective analysis was conducted on 83 patients who underwent reduction mammoplasty between January 2023 and October 2025. Methods Patients' characteristics and parameters related to the surgery were

Development and Validation of a Prediction Model for Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension in Diabetic Patients: A Retrospective Study of 57,375 Patients

open access: yesPulmonary Circulation, Volume 16, Issue 4, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) is an important cardiopulmonary complication in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), yet practical models integrating routinely available clinical, laboratory, and echocardiographic information remain limited.
