Activation Energies of Plasmonic Catalysts
The activation energy of a catalytic reaction serves not only as a metric of the efficacy of a catalyst but also as a potential indicator of mechanistic differences between the catalytic and noncatalytic reaction. However, activation energies are quite underutilized in the field of photocatalysis.

Bridging the gap: Multi‐stakeholder perspectives of molecular diagnostics in oncology
Although molecular diagnostics is transforming cancer care, implementing novel technologies remains challenging. This study identifies unmet needs and technology requirements through a two‐step stakeholder involvement. Liquid biopsies for monitoring applications and predictive biomarker testing emerge as key unmet needs. Technology requirements vary by

Experimental study and mathematical modeling of thin layer drying of rhubarb (Rheum ribes L.) [PDF]
In this study rhubarb stem slices were dried as single layers with thickness of 3 mm in the inlet air temperature range of 50-70 and air velocity of 1 ± 0.2 m/s in a laboratory scale cabinet dryer.

This study investigated how PYCR1 inhibition in bone marrow stromal cells (BMSCs) indirectly affects multiple myeloma (MM) cell metabolism and viability. Culturing MM cells in conditioned medium from PYCR1‐silenced BMSCs impaired oxidative phosphorylation and increased sensitivity to bortezomib.

Physical activity and energy balance [PDF]
AbstractEnergy expenditure rises above resting energy expenditure when physical activity is performed. The activity-induced energy expenditure varies with the muscle mass involved and the intensity at which the activity is performed: it ranges between 2 and 18 METs approximately.

A synthetic benzoxazine dimer derivative targets c‐Myc to inhibit colorectal cancer progression
Benzoxazine dimer derivatives bind to the bHLH‐LZ region of c‐Myc, disrupting c‐Myc/MAX complexes, which are evaluated from SAR analysis. This increases ubiquitination and reduces cellular c‐Myc. Impairing DNA repair mechanisms is shown through proteomic analysis.

Kinetics of silicide formation by thin films of V on Si and SiO_2 substrates [PDF]
The reaction rate of vacuum‐evaporated films of V of the order of 1000 Å thick is investigated by MeV He backscattering spectrometry. On substrates of single‐crystal Si and for anneal times up to several hours in the temperature range 570–650°C, VSi_2 is

Quantifying resonant activation like phenomenon in non-Markovian systems
Resonant activation is an effect of a noise-induced escape over a modulated potential barrier. The modulation of a energy landscape facilitates the escape kinetics and makes it optimal as measured by the mean first passage time.
