Magneto-thermal optimization of Prandtl-Eyring nanofluids over an expanding cylinder in a variable porous medium: an entropic and activation energy perspective

open access: yesJournal of Taibah University for Science
Heat transfer in non-Newtonian nanofluids is vital for cooling, energy systems, and biomedical applications. This study examines the thermophysical behavior of Prandtl–Eyring nanofluids under magnetohydrodynamic effects within a Riga cylindrical tube ...

Hippo pathway at the crossroads of stemness and therapeutic resistance in breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dysregulation of the Hippo pathway drives nuclear accumulation of YAP/TAZ, activating stemness‐related transcriptional programs that sustain breast cancer stemness and fuel therapeutic resistance across subtypes, underscoring Hippo signaling as a targetable vulnerability. Figure created and edited with BioRender.com.

Atomic Energy Commission Report AECD-3458

open access: yes, 1952
: The experimentally determined exponential dependence of spontaneous fission rate on Z^2/A has been used to derive an expression for the dependence of the fission activation energy on Z^2/A.

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

Activation-Free Synthesis of Chitin-Derived Porous Carbon: Application for Electrical Energy Storage

open access: yes
Chitin-derived porous carbons (CDPCs) are synthesized by simply carbonizing chitin at 850 °C for 1 h under a N2 atmosphere. This method is very simple and does not require any activation or washing processes.

Effect of CaO/SiO2 and MgO/Al2O3 on the Metallurgical Properties of Low Boron-Bearing High-Alumina Slag

open access: yesInorganics
For optimizing the operational efficiency and productivity within blast furnace processes, a profound understanding of the viscous flow characteristics of CaO–SiO2–MgO–Al2O3–B2O3 slag systems is of paramount importance.

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.

Harnessing Chemical Energy for the Activation and Joining of Prebiotic Building Blocks

open access: yes, 2019
Simultaneous activation of carboxylates and phosphates provides multiple pathways for the generation of reactive intermediates, including mixed carboxylic acid-phosphoric acid anhydrides, for the synthesis of peptidyl-RNAs, peptides, RNA oligomers and ...

Heterozygous loss‐of‐function alleles associate the conserved 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease EXOSC10 with hypersensitivity to the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.

Ammonium Nitrate Coating with Nitrocellulose or the Inverse? A Study of the Coating Process and an Investigation of the Resulting Combustion Parameters

open access: yesApplied Sciences
This research focused on studying the issue of coating ammonium nitrate (AN) with nitrocellulose (NC) and its microcrystalline form (MNC), using two esterification methods: traditional (HNO3/H2SO4) and in situ synthesis (KNO3/H2SO4).
