Emerging experimental and computational methods for studying redox‐regulated structural transitions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Redox reactions can reshape proteins and alter how they behave in cells, with important consequences for health and disease. This review explores emerging experimental and computational approaches for discovering these redox‐sensitive protein switches, revealing their structural effects, and predicting their behavior, opening new opportunities to ...

Differential regulation of the two transcriptional activation domains of the coiled-coil coactivator CoCoA by sumoylation [PDF]

open access: yesBMC Molecular Biology, 2008
The coiled-coil coactivator (CoCoA) enhances transcriptional activity of nuclear receptors, the xenobiotic aryl hydrocarbon receptor, and the lymphocyte enhancer factors (LEF) in the Wnt/beta-catenin signaling pathway. CoCoA is comprised of a large central coiled coil domain flanked by N-terminal and C-terminal activation domains (AD).

[Design and Investigation of a Hybrid Optical Resonator for Medium Energy COIL] [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
High brightness laser radiation of chemical oxygen iodine lasers (COIL) requires resonator types especially adapted to low gain medium and rectangular cavity geometry.

Synergistic perspectives—How single‐molecule biophysics complement biochemical understanding

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this review, we discuss how ensemble biochemistry and single‐molecule approaches are complementary, outline commonly used single‐molecule techniques, and illustrate their relevance through two representative case studies: chromatin organization by SMC complexes and pathway choice during DNA double‐strand break repair.

Role of TFG sequences outside the coiled-coil domain in TRK-T3 oncogenic activation [PDF]

open access: yesOncogene, 2003
The TRK-T3 oncoprotein, isolated from a human papillary thyroid tumor, arises from the fusion between the N-terminal domain of the TFG gene and the tyrosine kinase domain of the NTRK1 receptor. The 68 kDa TRK-T3 oncoprotein displays a constitutive tyrosine kinase activity resulting in its capability to transform NIH3T3 cells.

Reactor-scale stellarators with force and torque minimized dipole coils

open access: yesNuclear Fusion
In this work, we utilize new coil objectives for stellarator optimization with autodifferentiation, including pointwise and net coil–coil forces and torques. We use these methods to perform the first large-scale optimization of planar dipole coil arrays,

Evaluation and comparison of microbial colonization on nickel titanium (NiTi) closed coil springs and active tie-backs during orthodontic space closure: An in-vivo study

open access: yesJournal of Orthodontic Science
OBJECTIVE: Literature suggests that the mode of ligation and use of elastomeric chains for achieving orthodontic space closure may result in a significant increase in microbial colonisation.

Numerical investigation of toroidal plasma response for ELM control via magnetic perturbations in the DTT Tokamak

open access: yesNuclear Fusion, 2023
Linear plasma response modeling is exploited in this work to assess the effect of different coil configurations on edge localized mode (ELM) stability in full power operational scenarios for the Divertor Tokamak Test (DTT) facility, presently under ...
