This study demonstrates that BNNT exposure disrupts lipid homeostasis in bronchial epithelial cell cultures and activates eicosanoid lipid biosynthesis, producing inflammatory lipid mediators like leukotrienes. These effects are more pronounced in asthmatic cell cultures compared to healthy ones.

Disparities in early death and survival in children, adolescents, and young adults with acute promyelocytic leukemia in California. [PDF]
BACKGROUND: Findings from clinical trials and population-based studies have differed with regard to whether mortality within 30 days of diagnosis (early death) of acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL) has decreased in the era of all-trans retinoic acid and ...

Randomized Comparison of Cardiotoxicity With 60 Versus 90 mg Daunorubicin in AML Induction Therapy
Early cardiac biomarker monitoring in AML induction therapy showed significantly higher hsTnT levels after daunorubicin 90 mg/m2 compared with 60 mg/m2, indicating a dose‐dependent early myocardial effect. ABSTRACT Anthracyclines are an essential component of induction therapy for acute myeloid leukemia (AML), but their optimal dosing and the ...

The miR-223 host non-coding transcript linc-223 induces IRF4 expression in acute myeloid leukemia by acting as a competing endogenous RNA [PDF]
Alterations in genetic programs required for terminal myeloid differentiation and aberrant proliferation characterize acute myeloid leukemia (AML) cells.

PML-RARα co-operates with Sox4 in acute myeloid leukemia development in mice
Acute promyelocytic leukemia is characterized by a chromosomal translocation involving the retinoic acid receptor alpha gene. To identify co-operating pathways to leukemogenesis, we crossed MRP8-PML/RARA transgenic mice with BXH-2 mice which harbor an ...

Cytogenetics and FISH negative cryptic acute promyelocytic leukemia with CD56 expression
Acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL) is characterized by reciprocal translocation t(15;17)(q22;q21) and has a favorable prognosis upon immediate recognition and treatment. However, rare cases of APL show a cryptic insertion of retinoic acid receptor alpha (

Mucosal‐Associated Invariant T Cells in Rheumatic Diseases
Mucosal‐associated invariant T (MAIT) cells are innate‐like T cells defined by their semi‐invariant T cell receptor and restriction by the major histocompatibility complex class I–related molecule (MR1). These cells are primarily activated by microbial‐derived metabolites presented by MR1 or by cytokines.

Expression profiling of snoRNAs in normal hematopoiesis and AML [PDF]
Key Points A subset of snoRNAs is expressed in a developmental- and lineage-specific manner during human hematopoiesis. Neither host gene expression nor alternative splicing accounted for the observed differential expression of snoRNAs in ...
