Mitochondrial fatty acid synthesis (FASII) and iron sulfur cluster (FeS) biogenesis are both vital biosynthetic processes within mitochondria. In this study, we demonstrate that the mitochondrial acyl carrier protein (ACP), which has a well-known role in

Monitoring of nutrient limitation in growing E. coli: A mathematical model of a ppGpp-based biosensor [PDF]
Background: E. coli can be used as bacterial cell factories for production of biofuels and other useful compounds. The efficient production of the desired products requires careful monitoring of growth conditions and the optimization of metabolic ...

Navigating Transition Metal‐Dependent Cell Death: Mechanisms, Crosstalk, and Future Directions
Transition metals trigger distinct regulated cell death pathways beyond traditional apoptosis. This review examines ferroptosis (iron‐catalyzed lipid peroxidation) and cuproptosis (copper‐induced mitochondrial proteotoxicity), while exploring hypothetical “cobaltosis” as a novel pathway.

This study employed tRNASUAG, an anticodon‐engineered tRNA (ACE‐tRNA), to introduce a phosphorylatable serine into the C‐terminal domain of HBc by reading through its stop codon, thereby potentially promoting the ubiquitin‐proteasome degradation of HBc, and subsequently inhibiting HBV replication. Through a tRNASUAG‐gHBV1‐tRNASUAG‐gHBV2‐tRNASUAG tandem

Production of FAME biodiesel in E. coli by direct methylation with an insect enzyme. [PDF]
Most biodiesel currently in use consists of fatty acid methyl esters (FAMEs) produced by transesterification of plant oils with methanol. To reduce competition with food supplies, it would be desirable to directly produce biodiesel in microorganisms.

Psychological stress activates the sympathetic–adrenal axis, elevating norepinephrine (NE) and suppressing reproductive hormones, thereby impairing male reproduction. Excess NE overactivates and desensitizes β‐adrenergic receptors (β‐ARs), triggering Sertoli cell ferroptosis and disrupting spermatogenesis.

Gac two-component system in Pseudomonas syringae pv. tabaci is required for virulence but not for hypersensitive reaction [PDF]
Pseudomonas syringae pv. tabaci 6605 causes wildfire disease on host tobacco plants. To investigate the regulatory mechanism of the expression of virulence, Gac two-Component system-defective mutants, Delta gacA and Delta gacS, and a double mutant, Delta

BLOC1S1 Attenuates B. Melitensis 16M LPS‐Triggered Autophagy by Spatial Confinement of TDP‐43
This study explores how B. melitensis 16M LPS and BLOC1S1 regulate autophagy in goat spermatogonial stem cells. The 16M LPS is activating AMPK‐dependent autophagy, increasing LC3B‐II/I ratios and lysosomal genes, while Escherichia coli LPS shows no effect.
