Adaptively profiling models with task elicitation

open access: yesProceedings of the 2025 Conference on Empirical Methods in Natural Language Processing
Language model evaluations often fail to characterize consequential failure modes, forcing experts to inspect outputs and build new benchmarks. We introduce task elicitation, a method that automatically builds new evaluations to profile model behavior.

MODEL OF STRATIFIED LUBRICATION OF ELASTICALLY DEFORMED RADIAL BEARING

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Research, 2014
On the basis of the Navier-Stokes equations for the case of a ‘thin layer’, the continuity equation, Lame equations, and Darcy equation, considering the boundary conditions on the pin and bearing face at the layer interface, a method of generating an ...

A representative density profile of the North Greenland snowpack

open access: yes, 2016
. Along a traverse through North Greenland in May 2015 we collected snow cores up to 2 m depth and analyzed their density and water isotopic composition.

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Mycobacterial Response to Organic Solvents and Possible Implications on Cross-Resistance With Antimicrobial Agents

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology, 2018
Mycobacterium vaccae, a bacterium found in soil, has been receiving attention as adjuvant to antituberculosis treatment, vaccines and immunotherapies and even as antidepressant.

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

MATHEMATICAL MODEL OF COMPRESSIBLE MICROPOLAR HYDRODYNAMIC LUBRICATION FOR RADIAL BEARING WITH ADAPTED PROFILE OF ITS SURFACE

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Research, 2011
The analytical hydrodynamic calculations of the radial bearing with the adapted profile of its contact surface are made. Some optimal intervals of the nondimensional parameters typical for the compressible micropolar lubricants, as well as the parameter ...

Differential Expression Profile of Chicken Embryo Fibroblast DF-1 Cells Infected with Cell-Adapted Infectious Bursal Disease Virus. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2015
RNA-Seq was used to unveil the transcriptional profile of DF-1 cells at the early stage of caIBDV infection. Total RNAs were extracted from virus-infected cells at 0, 6 and 12 hpi.

Gene pleiotropy constrains gene expression changes in fish adapted to different thermal conditions

open access: yesNature Communications, 2014
Understanding the factors that shape the evolution of gene expression is a central goal in biology, but the molecular mechanisms behind this remain controversial.

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.
