Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Design and damping characterization of sandwich composite made of particle-filled hollow spheres and steel sheets

open access: yesScientific Reports
Sandwich composites made of particle-filled hollow sphere structures (PHSS) and steel sheets offer excellent lightweight and damping properties, ideal for high-speed machine tool components under dynamic loads.

Adaptive Control with Approximated Policy Search Approach

open access: yesITB Journal of Engineering Science, 2010
Most of existing adaptive control schemes are designed to minimize error between plant state and goal state despite the fact that executing actions that are predicted to result in smaller errors only can mislead to non-goal states. We develop an adaptive

Self‐adapting control charts [PDF]

open access: yesStatistica Neerlandica, 2006
When the distributional form of the observations differs from normality, standard control charts are often prone to serious errors. Such model errors can be avoided by using (modified) nonparametric control charts. Unfortunately, these control charts suffer from large stochastic errors caused by estimation.

Adaptive feedback analysis and control of programmable stimuli for assessment of cerebrovascular function [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The assessment of cerebrovascular regulatory mechanisms often requires flexibly controlled and precisely timed changes in arterial blood pressure (ABP) and/or inspired CO2.

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Sequential Loop Closure Based Adaptive Output Feedback

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2017
This paper presents a new, systematic method of synthesizing an output feedback adaptive controller for a class of uncertain, non-square multi-input/multi-output systems. The control design process consists of first designing an inner-loop controller for

ADAPTIVE CONTROL—A PERSPECTIVE [PDF]

open access: yesIFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1990
Abstract The paper presents a perspective on adaptive control. Use of adaptive control in current industrial products is discussed. The technique of averaging is discussed. It is shown how it can be used to make an assessment of the relative merits of different adaptive algorithms. Properties of robust and adaptive control is discussed.

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

EVALUATION OF THE EFFECT OF CHEMICALS USED AS SEED DRESSING FOR THE CONTROL OF BERSEEM ROOT ROT

open access: yesFUUAST Journal of Biology, 2019
Evaluation of different fungicides against berseem root rot disease was carried out at Adaptive Research Farm, Gujranwala. The traditional berseem variety harroo was planted in the month of October by following Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD ...
