Anomaly Detection in Audio with Concept Drift using Adaptive Huffman Coding
When detecting anomalies in audio, it can often be necessary to consider concept drift: the distribution of the data may drift over time because of dynamically changing environments, and anomalies may become normal as time elapses. We propose to use adaptive Huffman coding for anomaly detection in audio with concept drift.

Hybrid threshold adaptable quantum secret sharing scheme with reverse Huffman-Fibonacci-tree coding [PDF]
AbstractWith prevalent attacks in communication, sharing a secret between communicating parties is an ongoing challenge. Moreover, it is important to integrate quantum solutions with classical secret sharing schemes with low computational cost for the real world use.

ABSTRACT Tool use research has long made the distinction between tool using that is considered learned and flexible, and that which appears to be instinctive and stereotyped. However, animals with an inherited tool use specialisation can exhibit flexibility, while tool use that is spontaneously innovated can be limited in its expression and facilitated

ABSTRACT Human life history is derived compared to that of our closest living relatives, the great apes. It has been suggested that these derived traits are causally related to aspects of our ecology, social behaviour and cognitive abilities. However, resolving this requires that we know the evolutionary trajectory of our distinctive pattern of growth,

Image Compression Scheme Using Improved Basic-LAVQ and Optimized VLC
In this paper, a predictive locally adaptive vector quantization (PLAVQ) for real-time image compression is developed and simulated. It is a hybrid of improved predictor, LAVQ and (VLC). The latter is a combination of Laplacian quantizer, Huffman coding,

Parallel data compression [PDF]
Data compression schemes remove data redundancy in communicated and stored data and increase the effective capacities of communication and storage devices. Parallel algorithms and implementations for textual data compression are surveyed.

Chatting Towards Inclusivity: A Digital Approach to Inclusion Action Plans and Leader Development
ABSTRACT Inclusion is a cornerstone of success for organizations and society, yet inclusion is not guaranteed. Building on inclusive leadership research and relational models theory, we argue that inclusion cannot manifest without systematic effort and planning by leaders.

Traditional image and video compression algorithms rely on hand-crafted encoder/decoder pairs (codecs) that lack adaptability and are agnostic to the data being compressed.

Characteristics of Intense Multi‐Day Wet Spells Over West Africa
The study reveals a significant increase in intense wet spells, particularly in KASS‐D, emphasising the value of dense rain‐gauge networks. Larger‐sized events have grown, while smaller ones declined, boosting 3‐day and 5‐day wet spells' contribution to annual rainfall, with the Guinea Coast showing the highest increase and the Sahel the lowest ...

Improved Bayesian Compression [PDF]
Compression of Neural Networks (NN) has become a highly studied topic in recent years. The main reason for this is the demand for industrial scale usage of NNs such as deploying them on mobile devices, storing them efficiently, transmitting them via band-
