MAVIS Adaptive Optics Module: optical configuration and expected performance

open access: yes, 2022
The MCAO Assisted Visible Imager and Spectrograph (MAVIS) is currently in preliminary design for the ESO VLT. The instrument will provide multi-conjugate adaptive optics correction over a wide field of 30”x30”, feeding the visible part of the spectrum ...

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

Real-time real-sky dual-conjugate adaptive optics experiment

open access: yes, 2006
The current status of a real-time real-sky dual-conjugate adaptive optics experiment is presented. This experiment is a follow-up on a lab experiment at Lund Observatory that demonstrated dual-conjugate adaptive optics on a static atmosphere.

Co-Phase Error Detection for Segmented Mirrors Based on Far-Field Information and Transfer Learning

open access: yesPhotonics
The resolution of a telescope is closely related to its aperture size; however, the aperture of a single primary mirror telescope cannot be indefinitely enlarged due to design and manufacturing constraints.

Longitudinal circulating tumor DNA profiling in patients with advanced endometrial cancer using an off‐the‐shelf targeted NGS panel

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Intratumour heterogeneity complicates precision management of advanced endometrial cancer. Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) offers a minimally invasive strategy to capture tumor evolution and therapeutic resistance. Here, we compare tumor‐agnostic NGS with tumor‐informed ddPCR, outlining their relative sensitivity, concordance, and clinical implications ...

A Reparameterization Feature Redundancy Extract Network for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles Detection

open access: yesRemote Sensing
In unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) detection, challenges such as occlusion, complex backgrounds, motion blur, and inference time often lead to false detections and missed detections.

Adaptive optics – basic optical principles

open access: yesActa Ophthalmologica, 2016
SummaryAdaptive Optics (AO) refers to a technique to compensate for distortions caused by optical aberrations in the media between the camera and the object being imaged. It was originally developed for use in astronomical telescopes to compensate for optical distortions induced by the inhomogeneous earth atmosphere.

Interpreting the effects of DNA polymerase variants at the structural level

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using MAVISp and molecular dynamics simulations, we analyzed over 60 000 missense variants in POLE and POLD1 from ClinVar, COSMIC, cBioPortal, and saturation mutagenesis. Identified mechanistic indicators, including stability, binding, and long‐range, enable structural interpretation, providing ACMG‐like evidence for possible reclassification of VUS ...

Adaptive optics point spread function reconstruction directly from target data

open access: yes, 2016
Paper AOT2C.1, 3 S.Reconstruction of point spread function (PSF) using information from the wavefront sensor is a classic problem in adaptive optics. Although the theory and methods for this task have been in use for the last twenty years, implementation
