Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

ENHANCEMENT OF ITERATIVE TURBO DECODING FOR HARQ SYSTEMS [PDF]

open access: yesICTACT Journal on Communication Technology, 2016
This paper presents a new method for stopping the iterative turbo decoding. First, a bit-level convergence test using the cross-entropy analyses is used to select non converged bits and establish a simple and effective stopping rule.

Estimation in the convolution structure density model. Part II: adaptation over the scale of anisotropic classes

open access: yes, 2017
This paper continues the research started in \cite{LW16}. In the framework of the convolution structure density model on $\bR^d$, we address the problem of adaptive minimax estimation with $\bL_p$--loss over the scale of anisotropic Nikol'skii classes ...

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

A Fusion Rule-Based Adaptive Clustering Cooperative Spectrum Sensing Algorithm

open access: yesDianxin kexue, 2015
A fusion rule-based adaptive clustering cooperative spectrum sensing algorithm was proposed for meeting the dynamic wireless channe1. Firstly, according to the integration rules of the fusion center, the SNR thresholds of clustering cooperative spectrum ...

Learning the optimal buffer-stock consumption rule of Carroll [PDF]

open access: yes
This article questions the rather pessimistic conclusions of Allen et Carroll (2001) about the ability of consumer to learn the optimal buffer-stock based consumption rule.

Crucial parameters for precise copy number variation detection in formalin‐fixed paraffin‐embedded solid cancer samples

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that copy number variations (CNVs) can be reliably detected in formalin‐fixed paraffin‐embedded (FFPE) solid cancer samples using ultra‐low‐pass whole‐genome sequencing, provided that key (pre)‐analytical parameters are optimized.

Phenotypic and genotypic characterization of single circulating tumor cells in the follow‐up of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Single circulating tumor cells (sCTCs) from high‐grade serous ovarian cancer patients were enriched, imaged, and genomically profiled using WGA and NGS at different time points during treatment. sCTCs revealed enrichment of alterations in Chromosomes 2, 7, and 12 as well as persistent or emerging oncogenic CNAs, supporting sCTC identity.

Volatility, Heterogeneous Agents and Chaos [PDF]

open access: yes
Agent heterogeneity has been used in recent economic literature to justify nonlinear dynamics for the time paths of aggregate economic variables. In this paper, the mechanism through which heterogeneous agents leads to chaotic motion is explained. Adding
