Adaptive Volumetric Video Streaming Platform

2019 6th International Conference on Systems and Informatics (ICSAI), 2019
This paper proposes an adaptive volumetric video streaming platform including real-time tracking, adaptive source view selection, DASH streaming, GPU accelerated view synthesis, HEVC decoding and view-dependent rendering. Volumetric use case supports 3 degree of freedom immersive experience with additional limited translational movement.

Adaptation strategies for streaming SVC video

2010 IEEE International Conference on Image Processing, 2010
This paper aims to determine the best rate adaptation strategy to maximize the received video quality when streaming SVC video over the Internet. Different bandwidth estimation techniques are implemented for different transport protocols, such as using the TFRC rate when available or calculating the packet transmission rate otherwise.

User-adaptive mobile video streaming

2012 Visual Communications and Image Processing, 2012
We describe the design of a mobile streaming system, which optimizes video delivery based on dynamic analysis of user behavior and viewing conditions, including user proximity, viewing angle, and ambient illuminance.

Intelligent control for adaptive video streaming

2013 IEEE International Conference on Consumer Electronics (ICCE), 2013
We present an autonomous learning agent for adaptive video streaming in best effort networks. The agent learns an optimal control strategy in regards to the delivered quality of experience without the need for implementation of a complex heuristics.

Adaptive video streaming for UAV networks

Proceedings of the 7th ACM International Workshop on Mobile Video, 2015
The core problem for any adaptive video streaming solution, particularly over wireless networks, is the detection (or even prediction) of congestion. IEEE 802.11 is especially vulnerable to fast movement and change of antenna orientation. When used in UAV networks (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles), the network throughput can vary widely and is almost ...

Adaptive Multi-Path Video Streaming

Eighth IEEE International Symposium on Multimedia (ISM'06), 2006
Multiple description codes are designed for multiple path video streaming with channel diversities. In this paper, we investigate the performance of multi-path video streaming using a multiple description coding (MDC) technique. An efficient MDC technique based on spatial domain processing is applied.

Robust Quality Adaptation for Internet Video Streaming

Multimedia Tools and Applications, 2005
Internet video streaming is a widely popular application however, in many cases, congestion control facilities are not well integrated into such applications. In order to be fair to other users that do not stream video, rate adaptation should be performed to respond to congestion. On the other hand, the effect of rate adaptation on the viewer should be

Combining Stream Switching with Fine-Grained Intra-Stream Adaptation for Adaptive Video Streaming

2005 IEEE 7th Workshop on Multimedia Signal Processing, 2005
Video streaming systems in best effort networks have to somehow cope with dynamically changing bandwidth. Various scalable video codecs allow intra-stream adaptation by use of temporal, spatial, or quality (SNR) scalability; optimizations for finer grained scalability are available as layered coding and FGS techniques.

Adaptive rate control for Internet video streaming

2003 European Control Conference (ECC), 2003
The main contribution of this paper is an end-to-end rate-based congestion control algorithm for unicast quality adaptive video streaming that we call Adaptive Rate Control (ARC). The algorithm is based on end-to-end estimation of both available bandwidth and queue backlog.

Quality-of-Experience of Adaptive Video Streaming

Proceedings of the 25th ACM international conference on Multimedia, 2017
With the remarkable growth of adaptive streaming media applications, especially the wide usage of dynamic adaptive streaming schemes over HTTP (DASH), it becomes ever more important to understand the perceptual quality-of-experience (QoE) of end users, who may be constantly experiencing adaptations (switchings) of video bitrate, spatial resolution, and
