Naturally Derived Donor‐π‐Acceptor Compounds for Efficient Long‐Wavelength LEDs/Sunlight‐Induced Polymerization and High‐Precision Multiple 3D Printing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Two novel donor–π–acceptor photoinitiators enable ultrafast long‐wavelength photopolymerization under blue/green LEDs and sunlight. Effective at low intensities and concentrations, they overcome slow kinetics and permit rapid 3D printing via DLW, DLP, and LCD methods.

Polyunsaturated fatty acids increase lipid radical formation induced by oxidant stress in endothelial cells

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1994
Lipid-derived free radicals were detected by electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectrometry when cultured endothelial cells attached to Cytodex beads were exposed to iron-induced oxidant stress in the presence of the spin trap alpha-(4-pyridyl-1 ...

Bimetallic Pt(II)-bipyridyl-diacetylide/Ln(III) tris-diketonate adducts based on a combination of coordinate bonding and hydrogen bonding between the metal fragments: syntheses, structures and photophysical properties [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The luminescent Pt(II) complex [Pt(4,4'-Bu-t(2)-bipy){CC-(5-pyrimidinyl)}(2)] (1) was prepared by coupling of [Pt(4,4'-Bu-t(2)-bipy)Cl-2] with 5-ethynyl-pyrimidine, and contains two pyrimidinyl units pendant from a Pt(H) bipyridyl diacetylide core; it ...

A Ship‐in‐a‐Bottle Strategy: Crosslinking Amines and Epoxides inside MOF Pores for Enhanced CO2 Capture Performance

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A “ship‐in‐a‐bottle” strategy is used to grow oligomers inside of a MOF by crosslinking alkylamines with epoxides within the pores of Cr‐BDC. When tested in postcombustion carbon capture applications, the composites show excellent performance with high CO2 adsorption capacity, exceptional CO2/N2 selectivity, and enhanced stability over 100 adsorption ...

Isoketals form cytotoxic phosphatidylethanolamine adducts in cells

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2010
Levuglandins and their stereo- and regio-isomers (termed isolevuglandins or isoketals) are γ-ketoaldehydes (IsoK) that rapidly react with lysines to form stable protein adducts.

Characterization of the carbamino adducts of insulin

open access: yesBiophysical Journal, 1988
Carbon-13 (13C) nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (NMR) is performed to characterize the formation of carbamino adducts between insulin and (13C) carbon dioxide over a range of pH values in the presence of a physiological concentration (23 mM) of sodium bicarbonate.

Selective formation of a zwitterion adduct and bicarbonate salt in the efficient CO2 fixation by N-benzyl cyclic guanidine under dry and wet conditions

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2018
The efficient CO2 fixation by N-benzyl cyclic guanidine 1 was achieved by bubbling dry CO2 through CH3CN at 25 °C for 2 h. In addition, the zwitterion adduct 2 and bicarbonate salt 3 were selectively prepared from 1 under dry (in anhydrous CH3CN) and wet
