Proximal and Remote Hydrocarboxylation of Alkenes with Carbon Dioxide Enabled by Nickel‐Catalyzed Hydrogen Atom Transfer

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
The use of carbon dioxide and alkenes as feedstocks for the production of carboxylic acids holds great significance in sustainable chemistry. Herein, we introduce a simple and unifying nickel‐catalyzed radical hydrocarboxylation for both functionalized and unactivated alkenes at proximal and remote sites.

Effect of Alternating Polarity in Electrochemical Olefin Hydrocarboxylation

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Alternating polarity (AP) is a powerful tool for controlling selectivity in olefin hydrofunctionalization, but this use is underdeveloped. Using electrochemical olefin hydrocarboxylation as a model, we highlight how AP controls product selectivity, yield, and material decomposition.

Facile Access to Piezoelectric Polyamides by Polyamidation of Carboxylic Acids and Ynamides for Potent Tumor Immunotherapy

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
We establish a simple polyamidation of carboxylic acids and ynamides to synthesize versatile piezoelectric polyamides, with the merits of 100% atom economy, no waste generation, and additive‐free as well as catalyst‐free system. Tetraphenylethene containing polyamides can generate reactive oxygen species and elicit robust immunogenic cell death ...
