Platelet Incorporation of Labelled Adenosine and Adenosine Diphosphate
Thrombosis and Haemostasis, 1969SummaryAfter incubation of platelet-rich plasma with labelled adenosine or ADP, platelet incorporation of radioactivity was assessed. Platelets were rapidly separated for counting by filtration through cellulose acetate Millipore. Inulin-H3 served as a plasma marker, and triple isotope techniques permitted simultaneous assessment of the behavior of the

THE SYNTHESIS AND PROPERTIES OF ADENOSINE-2′ DIPHOSPHATE AND ADENOSINE-3′ DIPHOSPHATE
Canadian Journal of Biochemistry, 1967Adenosine-2′ diphosphate (A2'DP) and adenosine-3′ diphosphate (A3′DP) have been prepared by reaction between the corresponding mononucleotides with phosphoramidic acid in formamide. The products were isolated by ion-exchange chromatography on DEAE-cellulose and characterized by enzymic and chemical methods. A major side reaction in the synthesis is the

Nonenzymic ADP-ribosylation of poly(adenosine diphosphate ribose)
Biochemistry, 1985Poly(adenosine 5'-diphosphate ribose) [poly(ADP-ribose]) is spontaneously ADP-ribosylated when it is incubated with nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide, especially in 0.5 M NaCl and at an alkaline pH. The ADP-ribose residues are monomeric and are attached to the middle of polymer chains.

Magnesium, Adenosine Diphosphate and Blood Platelets [PDF]
RECENTLY we reported1 a relative plasma magnesium deficiency in a group of forty male patients with acute myocardial infarction (mean of 2.3 mg per 100 ml.) compared with thirty-six normal healthy males (mean of 2.6 mg per 100 ml.) in the same age group. In addition it was shown that magnesium added to fresh whole blood delays the clumping of platelets

Poly(adenosine diphosphate ribose)
1982Publisher Summary This chapter discusses the higher-order structure of poly(adenosine diphosphate ribose) [poly(ADPR)], poly(ADPR) polymerase purification and its properties, and molecular mechanisms of histone- and elongation-factor (EF-2)-ADP-ribosylation.

Adenosine Diphosphate-Degrading Activity in Placenta
Clinical Science, 19831. The degradation of ADP by the placenta and umbilical artery was investigated. 2. Supernatants from incubations of finely chopped placental and umbilical arterial tissue were incubated with [14C]ADP for various durations from 0 to 30 min. 3.

Net adenosine diphosphate accumulation in mitochondria
Archives of Biochemistry and Biophysics, 1977Abstract In addition to the adenine nucleotide exchange translocator, corn mitochondria possess a transport mechanism for the net accumulation of [3H]ADP. The accumulation is energy linked and requires the presence of phosphate and Mg2+. Inhibition of the adenine nucleotide exchange translocator with carboxyatractyloside does not block ADP ...
