Kawasaki? Adenovirus? Kawasaki da adenovirus o con adenovirus?
Medico e Bambino Pagine elettroniche, 2023Kawasaki disease (KD) still represents a challenge for differential diagnosis because it shares clinical features with other infectious diseases. Adenovirus infection has many symptoms that can be found among the diagnostic criteria of KD. However, the two entities have some minor differences that are useful to distinguish them.

Human Gene Therapy, 2004
Structural studies continue to play an essential role as the focus of adenovirus research shifts in emphasis from basic biology to adenovirus-based vector technologies. A crucial step in developing novel therapeutics for gene replacement, cancer, and vaccines is often to modify the virion.

Adenovirus Meningoencephalitis
Pediatrics, 1978Central nervous system manifestations in association with adenovirus infections have rarely been documented. In this report, four children, ages 4, 5, 6, and 10 years, with adenoviral meningoencephalitis are described. Adenoviruses were recovered from CSF specimens in all four patients.

The Journal of Gene Medicine, 2003
AbstractPathogen entry into cells occurs by direct penetration of the plasma membrane, clathrinâmediated endocytosis, caveolar endocytosis, pinocytosis or macropinocytosis. For a particular agent, the infectious pathways are typically restricted, reflecting a tight relationship with the host.

Adenoviruses are associated with numerous disease outbreaks, particularly those involving d-cares, schools, children's camps, hospitals and other health care centers, and military settings. In addition, adenoviruses have been responsible for many recreational water outbreaks, including a great number of swimming pool outbreaks than any other waterborne

Endocytosis of adenovirus and adenovirus capsid proteins
Advanced Drug Delivery Reviews, 2003Key proteins of the icosahedral-shaped adenovirus (Ad) capsid mediate infection, and interact with cellular proteins to coordinate stepwise events of cell entry that produce successful gene transfer. Infection is mediated predominantly by the penton and fiber capsid proteins. The fiber initiates cell binding while the penton binds integrin coreceptors,
