Identification of serum protein biomarkers for pre‐cancerous lesions associated with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This work identified serum proteins associated with pancreatic epithelial neoplasms (PanINs) and early‐stage PDAC. Proteomics screens assessed genetically engineered mice with abundant PanINs, KPC mice (Lox‐STOP‐Lox‐KrasG12D/+ Lox‐STOP‐Lox‐Trp53R172H/+ Pdx1‐Cre) before PDAC development and also early‐stage PDAC patients (n = 31), compared to benign ...

Association of Statin Adherence With Mortality in Patients With Atherosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease

open access: yesJAMA cardiology, 2019
Importance Statins decrease mortality in those with atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD), but statin adherence remains suboptimal. Objective To determine the association between statin adherence and mortality in patients with ASCVD who have ...

Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 increases metastatic potential and aggressiveness in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A1 (ALDH1A1) is a cancer stem cell marker in several malignancies. We established a novel epithelial cell line from rectal adenocarcinoma with unique overexpression of this enzyme. Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 led to increased invasive capacity and metastatic potential, the inhibition of proliferation activity, and ultimately ...

Effective antihypertensive therapy: focus on adherence management

open access: yesКардиоваскулярная терапия и профилактика, 2020
High medical adherence is a prerequisite for achieving goals in the treatment of hypertension (HTN). The majority of patients with HTN showed low adherence to treatment, which requires finding ways to solve this problem. This review describes the factors

RIPK4 function interferes with melanoma cell adhesion and metastasis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RIPK4 promotes melanoma growth and spread. RIPK4 levels increase as skin lesions progress to melanoma. CRISPR/Cas9‐mediated deletion of RIPK4 causes melanoma cells to form less compact spheroids, reduces their migratory and invasive abilities and limits tumour growth and dissemination in mouse models.

Main factors of adherence to new oral anticoagulants and its dynamics in outpatients with nonvalvular atrial fibrillation: results of the ANTEY study

open access: yesКардиоваскулярная терапия и профилактика, 2020
Aim. To assess adherence to new oral anticoagulants (NOAC) or warfarin therapy and to study the factors influencing adherence in nonvalvular atrial fibrillation (AF) patients on different stages of treatment within the prospective outpatient registry of ...
