The Spectroscopic Detection of Drugs of Abuse on Textile Fibres after Recovery with Adhesive Lifters [PDF]
Fibres are one of the most common forms of evidence associated with forensic investigations. The use of adhesive lifters to recover fibres from crime scene samples has long been established as an effective method to recover such items of evidence.

Subtype‐specific enhancer RNAs define transcriptional regulators and prognosis in breast cancers
This study employed machine learning methodologies to perform the subtype‐specific classification of RNA‐seq data sets, which are mapped on enhancers from TCGA‐derived breast cancer patients. Their integration with gene expression (referred to as ProxCReAM eRNAs) and chromatin accessibility profiles has the potential to identify lineage‐specific and ...

Fracture mechanisms and failure criteria of adhesive joints and toughened epoxy adhesives
PhDAdhesive bonded applications are used widely in industry because of significant advantages such as uniform stress distribution, and the ability to join different materials.

Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

COMP–PMEPA1 axis promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in breast cancer cells
This study reveals that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer. We identify PMEPA1 (protein TMEPAI) as a novel COMP‐binding partner that mediates EMT via binding to the TSP domains of COMP, establishing the COMP–PMEPA1 axis as a key EMT driver in breast cancer.

Exploring the Mineral Composition, Structure, and Function of a Freshwater Bivalve Adhesive
Etheria elliptica is a freshwater oyster that produces an adhesive that hardens underwater, allowing them to attach to other oysters, rocks, wood, and other natural substrates, producing complex oyster bed communities.

Genipin-crosslinked fibrin hydrogels as a potential adhesive to augment intervertebral disc annulus repair [PDF]
Treatment of damaged intervertebral discs is a significant clinical problem and, despite advances in the repair and replacement of the nucleus pulposus, there are few effective strategies to restore defects in the annulus fibrosus.

Numerical analysis of effects of adhesive type and geometry on mixed-mode failure of adhesive joint
In the present study, the effects of the adhesive type and geometry (adhesive thickness and scarf angle) on mixed-mode failure of double scarf adhesive joint (DSJ) under uniaxial tensile loading were numerically examined using the finite element ...
