Dual‐Action 3D Bioprinted Scaffolds with MXene Quantum Dots for Tumor Suppression and Breast Tissue Regeneration Postmastectomy

open access: yesAdvanced NanoBiomed Research, EarlyView.
Four types of 3D hydrogel scaffolds—acellular, acellular with MXene quantum dots (MQDs), cellular, and cellular with MQDs—are developed for postmastectomy breast cancer therapy. Among them, the acellular MQD scaffold uniquely prevents tumor recurrence while promoting tissue regeneration, offering a dual‐function platform that may reduce reliance on ...

RIPK3 dampens mitochondrial bioenergetics and lipid droplet dynamics in metabolic liver disease

open access: yesHepatology, EarlyView., 2022
RIPK3 dampens mitochondrial bioenergetics and lipid droplet dynamics in metabolic liver disease. Abstract Background and Aims Receptor‐interacting protein kinase 3 (RIPK3) mediates NAFLD progression, but its metabolic function is unclear. Here, we aimed to investigate the role of RIPK3 in modulating mitochondria function, coupled with lipid droplet (LD)

Laser‐Patterned Diamond Electrodes for Adhesion and Proliferation of Human Mesenchymal Stem Cells

open access: yesAdvanced NanoBiomed Research, EarlyView.
Laser patterning is used to create diamond electrodes on insulating diamond substrates. The process yields conductive surfaces with high capacitance, wide water windows, and low impedance. The electrode‐enhancing human mesenchymal stem cell adhesion and growth are nontoxic and promote cell alignment.

Emergence of highly profibrotic and proinflammatory Lrat+Fbln2+ HSC subpopulation in alcoholic hepatitis

open access: yesHepatology, EarlyView., 2022
Lrat+ quiescent hepatic stellate cells (qHSC) give rise to Lrat+Fbln2+ activated HSC (aHSC) in alcohol‐associated hepatitis and this subpopulation is highly profibrotic, inflammatory, and immunoregulatory based on their single cell transcriptomic profile. Abstract Background and Aims Relative roles of HSCs and portal fibroblasts in alcoholic hepatitis (
