A neuronal relay mediates a nutrient responsive gut/fat body axis regulating energy homeostasis in adult Drosophila [PDF]
The control of systemic metabolic homeostasis involves complex inter-tissue programs that coordinate energy production, storage, and consumption, to maintain organismal fitness upon environmental challenges.

Molecular mechanism underlying nutritional control of inflammatory responses
Storage of excessive energy as triglycerides is a fundamental function of adipose tissue. Adipose tissue also secrets a number of hormones termed “adipocytokines” or “adipokines” in response to the systemic nutritional status, thereby constituting a ...

In this study, a novel cationic peptide, IW is designed and synthesized, with a tandem‐repeat sequence demonstrating potent activities against a broad spectrum of clinically relevant Carbapenem‐resistant Enterobacteriaceae in both the planktonic and biofilm states. IW is then formulated with P407 to form IW‐P407 colloids.

Experimental Investigation of Distant Cellular Interaction among Adipose Derived Stem-Cells [PDF]
In addition to chemical and mechanical interactions between cells electromagnetic field produced by cells has been considered as another form of signaling for cell-cell communication. The aim of this study is evaluation of electromagnetic effects on viability of Adipose-derived stem cells (ADSCs) without co-culturing.

Albumin Corona Overturns Long‐Acting Behaviors of Myristic Acid‐Conjugated Quetiapine Nanosuspension
Albumin corona alters surface properties and enhances colloidal stability by overturning pH responsiveness and nano‐aggregation behaviors of long‐acting myristic acid‐conjugated quetiapine nanosuspensions (QMN), resulting in accelerated in vitro and in vivo drug release.

Brown and Beige Adipose Tissue and Aging
Across aging, adipose tissue (AT) changes its quantity and distribution: AT becomes dysfunctional with an increase in production of inflammatory peptides, a decline of those with anti-inflammatory activity and infiltration of macrophages.

Tissue equivalence of some phantom materials for proton beams [PDF]
Tissue and water equivalence of some phantom materials originally developed for conventional radiation therapy was investigated on the ITEP medical proton beam facility. The proton CSDA range in three variants of Plastic Water, lung, adipose, muscle and compact bone substitute materials (CIRS Inc., USA) was measured by a silicon diode as well as the ...
