Bioengineered Isoflavone–Probiotic Functional Foods for Sustainable Modulation of Metabolic and Reproductive Health in PCOS

open access: yesFood Bioengineering, EarlyView.
Synergistic isoflavone‐probiotic action modulated metabolic, microbial and ovarian pathway ABSTRACT Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a prevalent metabolic–endocrine disorder characterized by insulin resistance, hyperandrogenism, chronic inflammation, oxidative stress, and ovarian dysfunction, with growing evidence implicating gut microbiota ...

Aloe vera Tannin Ameliorates Fructose‐Induced Dyslipidaemia and Oxidative Stress in Wistar Rats

open access: yesFood Chemistry International, EarlyView.
Aloe vera tannin (AVT) significantly enhances liver reduced glutathione and superoxide dismutase activities in rats. Fructose consumption creates dyslipidaemia in rats by significantly increasing serum cholesterol and LDL levels. AVT prevented fructose‐induced dyslipidaemia in rats by controlling the lipid profile. AVT did not affect liver, hippocampus

Effect of tirzepatide-induced weight loss on adipose tissue in obesity: rationale and design of the randomized placebo-controlled Tirzepatide Brown and Beige Adipose Tissue Activation (TABFAT) trial

open access: yesTrials
Background Obesity is a complex disease marked by excessive, dysfunctional adipose tissue accumulation. Recent research underscores the pivotal role of brown adipose tissue (BAT) in metabolic health and its potential as a therapeutic target for obesity ...

Real‐time quality and safety monitoring of fruit juice using paper‐based platform

open access: yesFood Biomacromolecules, EarlyView.
Schematic illustration of a paper‐based biosensor for rapid detection of fruit juice spoilage. Abstract Food spoilage and safety concerns still remain critically challenging within the fruit juice industry, especially as conventional detection methods, though precise, are often too time‐consuming, costly, and reliant on centralized laboratories.

Carnosic Acid (CA) Induces a Brown Fat-like Phenotype, Increases Mitochondrial Biogenesis, and Activates AMPK in 3T3-L1 Adipocytes

open access: yesBiomedicines
Adipose tissue plays a crucial role in regulating metabolic homeostasis, and its dysfunction in obesity leads to insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes (T2D).

Peroxisomal regulation of redox homeostasis and adipocyte metabolism [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Peroxisomes are ubiquitous cellular organelles required for specific pathways of fatty acid oxidation and lipid synthesis, and until recently their functions in adipocytes have not been well appreciated.
